HELP for old dog!!!!

Evening dear friends,
Does anyone here live in Virginia?
I have a dear friend that has an animal sanctuary. She got a call today from a local shelter thaht will euthanize an old dog tomorrow if no one takes her. The "owners" and I use that term loosely dumped her off.. literally did NOT Tell the shelter her name and said she was "old"... I guess she used up her usefulness.

If anyone has a big heart and would like to love "Muffin" as the shelter has named her PLEASE let me know.

What is wrong with people these days????
I am almost in tears.. becasue she is old??? DEar God!:(

How old?
Any chance a breed rescue will take her?
What part of Virginia? (It's a big state ...)
