My kitten, Hitsugi, suddenly stopped using his litterbox about 2 months ago. He just won't poop in it, he does everything else though.

We tried cleaning the area he was going in (we have cement floors in the basement, which is where he stays). That did not work. We tried getting him another litter box and that also did not work.

Is there anything I can do to make him go in it again?

Have you tried using a different brand of kitty litter?

Yes, we moved him from some flushable litter to Tidy Cats after he stopped using the box.

When my (now) oldest cat, Mollie Rose was a kitten she also started pooping elsewhere, even though she was still peeing in the box. My vet told me to isolate her in one room with her food, water and litterbox for 24 to 48 hours. It did the trick! She never pooped anywhere but in the box after that.

That's about all the advice I can offer. Good luck!

You don't really keep your kitten in the basement ?

So how far away is the play area in the house from the basement.

How long have you had him ?

Why don't you adopt him a similarally aged feline friend, kitten belong in pairs :)
