Last ditch effort to save AR 2 lhasas from euthanasia

Please contact Darcy Duncan AT [email protected] or Bekye AT [email protected] if you can help in any way!

Hoping to get these guys boarded somewhere to buy more time. They are due to be put down TODAY. See below emails for all info. Bekye has a call in to the lady - waiting to hear back. Know of any rescues???? I'm beyond my limit as it is or else I'd be all over them. Can help with transport. They need somewhere to go!!! Please contact myself [email protected] or Bekye [email protected] if you can help in any way!

Thank you!

Aren't they GORGEOUS??? This is just breaking my heart.

My vet charges $12/day ... no rescue discount because of the severely limited boarding space. I know some of the vets here charge as little as $5/day ... my problem is I am so overwhelmed (and in debt) that I cannot commit to them unless I have help ... and I'm really hoping someone else will step up. Current household count is 15 ... I'm really overwhelmed. :((

If you've got ANY ideas ... if anybody up there would take them ... I could bring 'em up with me next month...

THANKS for caring ~

Bekye

Bekye,

Any place that will give a discount on boarding – to buy them more time? I'm sure we could put a fund together - -

Can I see their pics?

Mary Spurlock (STFBR) and I have been working with Care for Animals of Arkansas to try to save these two Lhasas. They're a bonded pair, 10-year-old male and 7-year-old female (GORGEOUS!), altered, all shots, vet records, healthy ... EXCEPT, the female is diabetic.

These dogs were once these people's "children" but now that they have human children they don't want the dogs any more. They are ready to euthanize them to be "rid of them" ... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I hate to even write about a bonded pair, one senior, one diabetic, and out of the state to boot, but I have seen these faces and I have to at least exhaust every avenue before they are euthanized.

I know better than to even THINK I could take them, being already five over my multi-pet permit and pretty well overwhelmed to boot ... but I won't be able to live with myself if I don't try to save their lives.

IF anyone has ANY ideas whatsoever, I will transport (or coordinate the transport) to wherever their saviors might be.

I have pictures of the pair on my work computer and will forward them to anyone who is interested.

Say a prayer, please. When I see emails like the one below I have to wonder if I'm even cut out for rescue. I just want to pull the blankies over my head and cry.

Not so good news......Reagan and Dillard have run out of time. I have run out of ideas. Maybe, I just have to accept this and move on to rescues that I can help. I never did hear from Paws of Austin but I imagine they are splitting at the seams just like the rest of us. Not to mention the age and diabetic issue.

Bekye and Mary - thanks to both of you for your support and efforts on behalf of these 2 lhasas. If I can ever help you in this neck of the woods, let me know!

I HATE THIS!!!!! sorry to vent.
Bless you and take care!

Dillard (born 11/4/93) - male, black is Majority color, neutered. Dillard is a perfect inside dog who loves to have his belly rubbed as long as you can. He likes to play with squeaky toys and an occasional run in the backyard, but does not like to go for walks. He enjoys naps in the sunlight and just being lazy. Even though he is an older dog, he is in good health and has been taken very good care of. He sometimes believes he is not a dog and occasionally has somewhat of an attitude. For example he growls when wipe his feet, tell him to get off the furniture, or brush against his tail. He would rather sit on the couch if given his choice. He is timid around strange dogs.

Reagan (born 5/20/97) - female, blonde color, spayed. Reagan is a great family dog. Loves attention and going on walks. Great with kids as this dog will lick and play all day. She is an inside dog who loves people. She is a recently discovered diabetic dog who requires two shots a day and a special diet. Reagan has the most friendly personality and wants to be where the attention is. Good with other dogs. Great with people and kids of all ages.
