Tigris went in today for his yearly check but he has to go again tomorrow:eek:

The vet found a really bad tooth and it has to be removed. We didn't notice it as it is the last one. He did not have much tartar, so we had no idea.

We will have an un-quiet night because there will be two hungry cats and some worries.

Please keep paws and fingers crossed that all goes well:)

Barbara, sorry to hear about Tigris' tooth! I, too, was surprised to hear from my vet about Miley needing 5 extractions but having little tartar on her teeth. I was told that she had bad enamel on her teeth and that was the cause. I figure she will be toothless by the time she is ten.

Surely hope Tigris has a quick recovery from his dental work. From what my vet said, decaying teeth, below the gum can be quite annoying to cats and quite painful as well. Since these little furry pets never tell us what is going on with them, until the last moment, how are we to know? I guess that is why annual visits are so very important.

Lots of furry hugs to everyone there...... I bet Tigris will be fine....just a little sore....my vet also had me pill Miley after her dental surgery......that was no fun!

Good luck and keep us posted!

Dear Tigris,

You have my full sympathy, I know about having teeth removed. After I had a fight with an intruder in our yard, one tooth came loose and my mom and dad took me to the V E T to have it out the next morning. I wasn't really scared, because I didn't know what it was all about. They were a little worried about me having the anaesthesia though and asked the guy in the green coat if could give me a little less than normal, as it was the first time. He did, and I didn't feel a thing! :) BUT, when they came to collect me, he had taken TWO of my teeth out!! I hope that won't happen to you!!

The worst thing is that they'll starve you, beginning this evening, but I'm sure you'll get lots of yummy treats when you get back.

Good luck, Tigris!! :)

Your pal,
Fister

My mom and dad send kisses and scritchies and hope all will go well! :)

Dear Tigris,

Poor dear....I feel your pain! I went to the V E T recently and he said I need my teeth cleaned! Oh I dread it! I will probably have it done next week.

I'll be thinking of you...

Tigris, I am sorry that you have to lose a tooth, but I'm sure you will feel better when you are all healed. I hope everything goes well.

Edwina, I hope everything goes well with your teeth cleaning. It's nice to have shiny pearly whites to show off.

My Dearest Tigris,

Your such a handsome guy that no one will ever notice one little missing tooth. I'm sending you head bumpies across the miles. My meowmie will say a prayer for you and I will keep my paws crossed. I know you will be feeling better soon.

Forever yours,

This morning when we brought the boy to the vet he was really upset.

If I translated it right he said: I never agreed to being carried there twice! Unfortunately he used a much dirtier vocabulary!

He was complaining all 20 minutes it takes to drive there.

Filou whom we took for his yearly check but who may get a tooth cleaning if its time went too. (I thought if it's about starving then I better starve the two:( ) He was a little more quiet.

I hope my boys will be ok. I'll hear about them at noon.:(

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. You somehow feel better if you know Pet Talk is behind you:)

Tigriboy is back home and Filou too.

With Filou, everything was ok, he didn't need any tooth cleaning (he had it last year).

And the Tigris still has all his teeth: it was only full of dirt, tartar and slime- so it was just cleaned. I wonder however how come that one extra tooth was so dirty that it looked completely rotten while there was not too much tartar.

Filou could get some food immediately but Tigris will have to wait until 4:(

I am happy that it's over again:)

Barbara, I am so glad things turned out ok. Will Tigris need to take any medications for a few days? The vets here usually give the cats antibiotics for a few days, to ward off evil spirits and bacterial infections.

Great news, eh?!!!

Start packing....

What great news for you Tigris - and Filou too. :D I can vividly imagine the language you used on the car trip!

I'm sure you're feeling a lot better now you have clean teeth - but you're hungry, arent you! I bet you'll get some yummy food around 4 o'clock. :) Now don't overdo it, so you get an upset tummy. ;)

Kisses and scritchies from us all. :)

Tigris, I am so glad that you didn't need your tooth pulled. A cleaning is much better! Now, keep that tooth as clean as the others, and you won't have to go back there for awhile. :)

Filou, I am also happy that your dental checkup was fine. I hope you didn't have to listen to too much of your brother's bad language in the car! ;)

Great news, Barbara! :)
