I just love stories like this. Animals do so much for us, and sometimes we just take it for granted or are oblivious to it. Most normal people can't help but respond to something that gives them unconditional love and loyalty. It sometimes makes me think that those who abuse animals are psychopaths, in the true sense of the word, and would just as easily abuse people too. Don't many killers first start out torturing and killing animals? *shiver*

Anyway, thanks for posting this. I hope this story inspires other people to start these kinds of programs.
