Im pretty sure alot of people here have canons.
A week ago I had a little incident with my camera. I was outside with it, taking pictures, and I accidently droped it on cement. smoothe move, huh? :p So now it's all scrathed up, and the place were the batterise go will not close, so I have to hold it up with tape. haha. It's in sad shape. I need a new one, and something better. Canons seem good. What is there price range?

Amber,
Before I bought my Kodak Digital camer, I had a Canon Sure Shot Zoom. It was THE best camera I've owned (film camera wise). I think the total price was $239. But that was also quite sometime ago (6 years). I'm sure the prices have come down substantially since then. Unfortunately I don't have it anymore, as someone stole it from my desk at the newspaper
The best place to buy a camera is Tri-City Camera Shops in NYC. They have a website. If you want, I'll find out for you what it is. You also might want to try e-bay. My friend bought a brand new Nikon Digital from Tri-City Camera on e-bay. Alot of dealers sell there. Might be worth a try!
Good luck!

My Canon Powershot A-70 was $350.00. That was when they *first* came out, so I'm sure they're less expensive now. It IS a great camera! :D They came out with the A-80 a few months ago, and that one seems great too.

I have the A60. I paid $430 Ca. after taxes but it's A LOT cheaper now. I think I saw it for a little over $200 around Christmas. They seem to be really sturdy. I've dropped mine so many times and it's still working fine. I prefer it over our new 5 megapixel because it's simply the best camera I've ever used.

I've dropped mine SOOOOOOOO many times. It still works fine.
It's also gotten wet, sand in it.. everything.. It works great!!
You could search for it.. it's the Canon A60 -- it was $300 something when we got it, but that was when it first came out. It's probably alot cheaper now.
Canon is the best way to go! ;)

Hey Donna ~
Are you sure of that eBay *link* ??
When I clicked on it - it came up with a Canon
SureShot 60 Zoom Date - 35mm Film Camera.
Price was/is $10.
Here's what was said by the seller >>
"You are bidding on a Canon SureShot 60 Zoom 35mm camera.
This item is old and has been heavily used.
When last used, the pictures that this camera took were
beginning to appear blurry.
This camera would be a great item to use as parts for a hobbyist
or as a starter camera."
The small DIGITAL models start with a "A" prefix -
A60, A70, A80.
;)
