The dangers of mercury in tuna are known, and I find myself passing over the tuna flavored canned foods when I shop for my cats. Am I being overly paranoid? I feed Fancy Feast, Hanna & Bo get 1/4 can each in the AM (the small cans, Abby refuses canned food). I even wonder about the "Fish and shrimp" flavored foods, I don't know what kind of fish in in there. Both cats love the fish flavored foods over the beef, chicken, turkey kinds.

I worry that even a little mercury could be very dangerous to a tiny cat...anyone know more about this? They love their fish flavored foods and I hate to deprive them, but I worry.

I have to admit I never even knew about the danger of Tuna until I Saw it on PT, I used to feed Ash canned cat food that had Tuna in it, now I am worried, it was his favourite, he is now on Biscuits only, as I have upgraded my kitties food to a much better product, and now I have read this I am so glad.

I sure donot think you are being fussy over your cats welfare, I was ignorant about the danger, and I am thankful to have found out here, education can only but do us and our kitties good.
