...of people keeping cats as pets may have been discovered by archaeologists.
The discovery of a cat buried with what could be its owner in a Neolithic grave on Cyprus suggests domestication of cats had begun 9,500 years ago.

What a fascinating story. That is considerably earlier than any other evidence. The article says that the researchers presume the cats were introduced to Cyprus, because there are no native species there. I don't fancy being the one who had to row to Cyprus from wherever in an open boat with cats on board! Do you think the cat box might be a neolithic invention? :D

Hehehe - I wonder if the archaologists thought of that!!! (Or is it just ourr "PT"way of looking at things???)
