....time to open the bar...

We haven't had a 'critter drink' for a while, so...............

Koala Bear

1 oz. Creme de Banana, 1 oz. Dark Creme de Cacao, 1-2 scoops Vanilla ice cream

Blend with ice, Garnish with Whipped cream & Sprinkle nutmeg

MMMmmmmm.....sounds good, but please, no whip cream for me. I hate it when they ruin a perfectly good desert by smothering it in whip cream. ;) :D

I'm ready to celebrate! Terry landed safely back at O'Hare about an hour ago, so he's home and snuggling with Peanut right now. Oh, and in case you missed it, he's been in Germany for the last couple of days so it's been pretty quiet at home. Now all we have to do is make it through tomorrow and then we're off for the weekend again. To the spa this time. A nice relaxing weekend with nothing to worry about except whether my facial is next or is it my massage. ;) :D

And I should get my butt in gear and do some work around here otherwise next week is going to be a b**ch. So I'll take my drink - thank you very much - and get back to work.

Hope everyone else is having a good Thursday too. ;) :D

If you check out the General section, there are quite a few prayers needed. First off, I'd like to propose a toast to all the PT'ers who are going through a crisis right now with medical concerns and so forth. For you and your families, I pray for peace of mind.

Koala Bears are cute but mean I hear. I bet this drink could sneak up you but I'll try one. Two days ago temps didn't even hit 50. This afternoon it's 71. Ah Washington DC in April  A toast to a long overdue spring and a toast towards health and peace of mind... nice thoughts Slick :)

that Koala sounds great. We're also due for some nice weather this weekend. Good thing too as I'm having family over - now I can move the event outside.

Slick - I haven't been to General yet today - I'll check it out.

Glad it's Thursday (even if it isn't quite). I'd love a Koala Bear - no whipped cream or nutmeg. Thanks!

Many prayers for those who are in need of comfort. Seems like there is an awful lot of bad happening to people right now.

It's been in the mid-70's for two days, but they are talking about it being in the mid-40's this weekend. Great! Dick wants to go out and cut wood this weekend - I hate working outside when it's cold. He also wants to do a lot of yard work?!? I'd rather be inside doing laundry and cooking (can't believe I said that!!).

Yes, it has been a tough week all over the world.....

But here's a story to make you all feel better....

Sidney is a Yorkie who got lost last week.

His owner moved to a new home and while she was bringing stuff into the new house Sidney got out....when she went looking for him some neighborhood kids volunteered that he ran, "that way, it looked like that car hit him....."

Panicked, the owner went looking for him, to no avail.

When I spoke to her last friday, she told me that she still had not
seen poor Sidney. I told her to think positive and that Sid would be back home that afternoon...

Well, it took an extra day but Sid is back at home....

His owner changed her phone number in the move- she called the phone company to put a 'forwarding number' on her old number.......Saturday she went home and picked up a message from a woman who found poor Sidney on her porch, scared silly.

The woman, who had no pets, settled Sid down, fed him a can of chicken soup, and called my friend.

Sid was reunited with his owner and was treated to a chicken dinner on the way home.......

A good new story....

My question???

What does he have to do to get a steak???
;)

I would love a Koala, it does sound good. Probably make Mario one too. He has been trying to play with my grandson, Dakota, this week. I have my Dakota with me all week until next week anyway, he has spring break.

Nice to have him with me, I haven't seen in a couple of months.

So I'm happy!!!:)

Willie, I'm so jealous! My grandson lives in TX and my daughter isn't speaking to me (for over a year now) so my MOM has to sneak pictures out of my grandson. (Mom is living with daughter now.. long boring story). ze;yjave a ypsy6 yp OOPS, got my hands on the wrong keys :o Just wanted to say "here's to us". Lets get a round - on the house :p uh oh, here comes Mario "on the house" we know what THAT means, watch out for your keys  )

Easy on the booze for me and LOTS of whipped cream. I'm on muscle relaxants and pain meds for a pulled trapezius muscle so I'm not supposed to drink while on them.

Glad Sid was reunited with his owner. That poor dog certainly deserves a steak, not chicken!!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Laurie, I know how you feel, my son pulls the same thing with us sometimes. Like he uses the kids againt us, or to get his way. He has three in all. Two live with their mother, and this one boy lives with his dad. Dakota seems like has spent most of his life with me though. The other two, I can see anytime, their mother wants us to be around Cheyenne and Kelby. My son is just as stubborn as a mule! Mine is a long boring story too. My son gets along better with me than he does his dad. I'm too easy on him..Oh well we take what we can get.

Heres to us grandmothers that sometimes have to suffer. Cheers!!!:)

Oh, I want to tell you what Mario done to my husband this moring. My husband get up and come and gets in his recliner every morning, and sleeps of course. He keeps some of his sugar free candy next to his recliner. Mario opened the door and made off with all his candy. LOL, very funny. Jimmy, my husband was sooo mad because Mario stole his candy. I told him, next time you'll wake up!

I think we should drink to Mario, the biggest little theif I have ever seen. Watch out for your car keys people!!

Hi everybody. sorry so late in getting here but work is now keeping me busy. we are really moving at getting set up done on one shop will start next week on another . I get to help train this year, so I will have lots of DUH! stories thank goodness it's older folks. No teens are being hired this years. Just can't find any that actually work(please don't be affended any one here you are all great kids, but in the normal work place teens and summer work don't work expesally in a resort town) I guess I'll be the youngest in the store now for sure.
I ll take a diet lime cola if you have any left.
Merlin is havin ng a hard time with me back to work(ben too:D ) I have the amazing velcro dog this week.

I guess I'm in the minority , I 'm not sure I want to be a grandma. With the diabetes factors in the family on both of our parents , It is just not a good idea. But for now till the kids make the decisions and get all the testing I settle with grand kitties. 5 of them.

This is my 4,000th post and I wanted to make it with good friends.

Yes this has been one H____ of a week for so many people. I want to stop and light a candle and say a prayer for all of those who are suffering.

Richard, thanks for Sid's story - it did lift my spirits and not just the liquid kind.

It is late here, almost Thursday for real in Calif.

I'd like something mellow - maybe a Bailey's and then it is off for some serious sleep tonight.

See you all for breakfast - I will bring in my hashed brown potato casserole - really yummy and crispy.

slick
04-08-2004, 12:43 AM
Oh great!!!! Your 4,000th post at Dick's Place!!! Now I suppose you expect a free drink????

Not sure if I like the sound of that drink, could I just have a Bucks Fizz please? That would go down well around now. I'll hold off having any breakfast until the hashed brown potato casserole arrives - sounds good.

It's a beautiful day here and I'm very much looking forward to 4 days off over easter. Beast wishes and positive thoughs going out to all those who have had a rotten week.
