EMERGENCY SITUATION!!! 3-11 dogs to be euthanized Tuesday if we can't find rescues!!

LaGrange County Animal Shelter in LaGrange, IN is going to be forced to euthanize 3-11 dogs and 16 cats if rescues or forever homes aren't found by Tuesday. They think they have the cats taken care of and I HOPE that I have 3 dogs taken care of....we're on hold for a couple of days. If you would please crosspost ASAP I surely would appreciate it.

Sparky and Duke got adopted!!! YEAH!!
Tasha is going to Kim at Bellowood
Mic and Munchkin are going to Michelle in MN
Max, Maggie, and Stout are going to Sharen at Last Chance in MI today
The new Beagle and whomever else will be going to Barb in MN also.

All have been saved FOR NOW.

We are starting an adoption event at a local pet store on Sunday. We're starting with 4 dogs and we'll see how it goes.

I believe the cats are all safe too. They actually found foster homes for them. Some people are taking 6 of them at a time!!

Please say a prayer for these babies and the shelter....it's such a sad place.

Guess what??? The beagle that was going to MN got claimed today by his rightful owners!! More good news.

Bad news is that she got another dog in today....a 6-7 month old Walker Coonhound. We've already got a place for him though I think if no one claims him.

Ok....here's the deal.

Last Chance took Maggie, Max (the Shiba), and Stout. Stout is being returned and she will take either Bruno or one of the new dogs that have come off of stray hold.

Kim is NOT taking Tasha, there is a woman named Lois who runs a rescue in Dowiagic (sp?), MI that is taking her and it looks like she goes on Saturday.

Michelle in MN is taking Munchkin and Mic and they are going Sunday assuming we can get the distance from Des Plaines, IL to LaCrosse, WI covered.

The Beagle got claimed by owners. Max (the Boxer) got adopted, Duke got adopted, my parents adopted the baby that had been hit by a car and have named her Gracie, Sparky got adopted.


Becky told me yesterday that SEVEN people came through looking at dogs and cats!

The adoption event is Sunday afternoon from 1-4 and we are taking Brutus, Stout, and probably the 2 black dogs that are coming off of stray hold. Please wish us luck and keep us in your thoughts and prayers that this turns into a success.

It's been a good week!!! I just hope we can continue the success. There is a meeting of Animal Welfare people tonight and I'm going and I'll probably be asked to leave because they are doing absolutely NOTHING to help the animals....it's all about their egos and making themselves feel good and that isn't going to get it. So wish me luck and hope that I don't come home bloody! ;)
