Mao, my Siamese foster cat, is going to do a very special job.
As a review, Mao was trapped with a large group (20 to 30) of misc. DSH cats at the scene of a murder/suicide. This colony of cats was living outside and Mao and only 1 other cat were not your average DSH. (seems odd, right?) Many of these cats were feral. Those were TNR to a safe farm. Mao and the others that were tame are up for adoption.
The only other Siamese at the scene was just recently trapped. She is pregnant and very scared. It is believed that these 2 cats (Mao and this female) may have been a bonded pair that were dumped at this place together. The hope is that seeing her old cat friend will help her to come out of her shell. After all, she was one of the last ones trapped and she has seen over the last weeks all the cats she has called family, simply disappear. How scary is that?
So please pray that this sweet mom cat can adjust so she can have her babies in this new but safe environment, and hope that Mao can help her be less scared.
He leaves tonight. Good luck Mao, I know you can do it! :)

Siamese form such close bonds, with humans or other cats, I'm sure Mao will do his thing.

Well, it seems to be working. The mom to be cat seems more relaxed after seeing Mao. How exciting for them to be reunited :D.
I miss Mao here, though :(
I am not sure how long they want to keep them together. They don't know yet when the babies are due.

Yiippppeeee....great news Jen. You knew Mao could do it.
It must have been so cute to see them reuniting together.
Wait a go Mao.
I'm sorry you miss him Jen, but hopefully he will be gone for only a little while.

I missed this thread until now! My Mao is such a gentlemen (yes, I referred to him as my Mao ;) ) good luck to mamma cat and her unborn kitties. Maybe some loving person can adopt both and keep them as a matching set... boy if Grant wouldn't let me have ?Mao before, I certainly won;t be getting him now (especially becasue I'd HAVE to have one of the kittens too.)

Mao is coming home today (I am leaving in a bit to go get him). It is possible that the female is NOT pregnant. If this is so than she will be spayed and I will be fostering her with Mao in an attempt to have them adopted together. Should find out soon about her status. They names the female Ming (at my suggestion :D ) and in Chinese that means luck! :)

Hmmm...that's an interesting turn of events. But it doesn't matter, as long as she's calmed down, that's what's important.
And now not only is Mao coming home, but you'll get his best bud with him! :D

I know, it seems strange, but they were under the impression she was EARLY pregnant because most of the females coming from that area ARE. But it is possible that she is not. She was so tense before that they could not palpate to feel her belly. They will be trying again soon.
