What an adorable boy you are Bootsy (and I'm sure you are just a boy at heart, no matter what the vet says.)
Congratulations on your special honour as Cat of the Day today! May you and your purrson enjoy many headbumpies. :D
(Edited, because meowmie though Boots was a girl  when she read his bio this morning! She is such an embarassment sometimes. So sorry Boots.

All I can say Bootsy is that I hope my two pals live as long as you have. My daughter had a Siamese that lived to 18 I think.

It says under your photo that you are a male, yet your writeup refers to your having had kittens, so we'll assume you ARE a indeed a lovely girl. And 17 years +???? That is so wonderful and shows you are very well loved! We are very happy to meet you, Bootsy and wish you many, many more happy years! You are a purrrfectly wonderful Cat of the Day!

What a great cat we have today. Being able to grow to adulthood with a beloved pet is special indeed. She's had a super life and still enjoying every day, from the sound of it. Good for her.

Mew, Bootsy. My KatMa loves your story...
And your purrsons are soooooooo very lucky to have you for 16 years. May you continue in good health and have many more years with your people.
A wonderful choice for Cat of the Day! You are one special sweetiepie. Your lovely bow matches the golden colour of your beautiful amber eyes.
My human brother, Mark who is 29 now, grew up with the late Tiggy. Tiggy came as a 5-week old kitten, one week exactly before Mark's 11th birthday. We were blessed to have our darling Tiggy for 15 years.

Bootsy, you should get together with Grasshopper, who is a nice senior lady cat. :) ;)

Hello beautiful Bootsy! You have good genes and good care to be so healthy for so many years. You made a good decision to move in with your new family when the first one moved away. I hope you have many more healthy years. The little girl, now a young lady, loves you bunches.

What a beautiful Tuxie lady you are! 17+ - Hey, same as Grasshopper! But I think Bootsy hasn't worn out any of her 9 lives yet! (Grasshopper is down to 7, I'm sorry to say :o ) I know how you must feel for Bootsy-girl, 'cause I feel the same way 'bout 'hopper!!
All our very best wishes for many more years to come!!

Hello cat lovers,
I am Bootsy's owner. Unfortunately, my baby girl passed away in November (I had submitted her to catoftheday several months before). She was such a sweetie, and like the message says, I'd had her since we were both young little girls. She was with me through grade school, high school, college, a move to two other states, and she survived all of the them like the tough cookie she was. She was in the best of health until about the last month of her life. She suddenly developed a tumor on her face that the vet said was benign, but began to grow rapidly. In the last few days she stopped drinking water and seemed to be in a lot of pain.
I had a hard time deciding that it was time for her to go, but we shared a lot of great times and I hope that she was ready to leave her "old granny" body and have fun frolicking with all the other fun kitties in cat heaven. I still talk to her and send her hugs from her favorite human down here.
I have another kitty now, Neko. She is supposedly about two years old; I got her from the shelter. She is a very different girl, young and playful, and extremely affectionate. I think she and Bootsy would be great buddies if they had a chance to meet.
Thank you again for all your kind words about my special girl. I'm sure that she's feeling a lot of love right now!

I'm so very sorry about Bootsy. She was with you for so many years that her passing leaves a void in your life. I'm glad you have a new kitty in your life. Neko is her own kitty and a whole new experience for you. Bootsy was a beautiful girl and will always have a place in your heart.

I forgot about the time lapse that sometimes occurs between submission and posting the Cat of the Day! I am so happy Bootsy was chosen, as she is delightful. I am happy to hear that Neko has come to be with you - it encourages me to know that finding another feline friend who needs you when one that has been with you for so long has gone on is probably a healthy thing to do. I know Grasshopper is getting up there, and with her health problems a couple of months ago, I have learned to let go. I appreciate your post, as it encourages me to consider another cat when 'hopper leaves.
