I got chase's results back from his ultrasound. His pancreas actually looks fine despite the fact that his pancreatic values are high. Turns out he has an absess in his small intestine. The vet gave me two different medications to try to heal it, however, she said that if it doesn't get better, there is a good chance that it is cancer. And since it is in his small intestine she said it would not be possible to remove a tumor. he still has to be on the low-fat diet but no longer has to take the pancreatic enzyme. It's been only a few days but he seems to be doing better. Thanks to all who replied to my message about chase and thank you for the thoughts and prayers.

Well, I don't know whether to smile or cry. I am glad that his pancreas is ok. But I know you'll feel better when the intestinal problem is cleared up. Poor little boy. I hope he'll be feeling better with his meds, so you guys can get on with your playing and fun times!!!! :) I'll keep him in my prayers.

Thanks SO much for updating us on Chase. As Logan said, we're thrilled to hear he doesn't have pancreatitis. Hopefully the medication will clear up that abscess so he can return to being a happy, healthy, playful pup. Prayers continue for his complete recovery and most importantly, a cancer free diagnosis. Please check in when you can to let us know how he's doing. Hugs and kisses to you Chase!:) You've got a very special mommy!:)

Happy to hear that Chase doesn't have pancreatis after all.

Unfortunetely mine does. I have a 6 year old cocker spaniel who's name is Chester and he was diagnosed with pancreatis last september. Since then, we've spent atleast 1000$ in medical bills.

When he's on his medication, he fine but when he's off it, he gets more pancreatic attacks. To keep him better, he basically needs medication every day for the rest of his life and to stay on his low fat diet.

It's hard to keep up with the medical bills and alot of cleaning up after your dog who's sick with pancreatis. We don't know what else to do. I guess there's only so much you can do for your pet. We're afraid his days are numbered and there's always that dreadful decision near by

mandy is so cute. Sorry to hear about his heart problem. It's sad to see a young dog having health problems like that. Hope your dog will make full a recovery
