There's a new dog heading downtown

Who let the dogs out? Woof, woof, woof.
Evin Sanna Yadegar, that's who. Only her new puppy is Barkin' Dog Grill in downtown Modesto. Yadegar, with some help from husband Hanibal, is renovating a space at 940 11th St., near the old Readmore Books store.
She plans to serve big juicy burgers, fries, shakes and lots of Chicago-style hot dogs. Sandwiches, salads, chicken and other dishes also will be available. Most menu items won't contain additives or preservatives to offer folks healthier doggie diner fare.
Yadegar is maintaining the traditional feel of the old building, with its classic brick walls, open ceiling and exposed trusses. She's using vintage chandeliers, artwork and such to create a distinctive interior.
Set to open in early April, Yadegar thinks there's room for a another restaurant downtown. She's also convinced once people try the Barkin' Dog Grill's food, they'll be howlin' for more. …
