Here is a photo of my husband picking up my cat Samantha.
She doesn't like to be picked up much anymore since she is getting older, she seems to prefer that her feet stay on the floor!

Does anyone have any ideas for a caption?
Does anyone else have a cat who doesn't like to be held?
Post some photos if you have them!:)

LOL Oh Samantha! The indignity of it all! My Mitzi doesn't like to be picked up or held too closely and she's another "plush" cat.
Can't think of a caption; although she doesn't look too happy about the situation. Poor gal!

She needs a little sign "Ban the Bomb". She looks like a protester being carried off!

I can't think of a caption either, but Samantha is adorable, even if she is unhappy about being picked up. :D
Tubby only complains if I pick him up a certain way - I think I squeeze his tummy wrong or something.
Samantha looks like one of those Macy's Parade Balloons! ;) :D  :D

poor Samantha... every once in a while you just have to put up with being loved, whther you like it or not.;)
How about "Here we go again" as the caption?
BTW, she does look like Macy's Parade Balloon!!!! :D :D :D

"Oh, no. I thought I could control gravity"
Cats always get heavier when they don''t want to be picked up or when they jump on the bed with the intention of waking you. Other times they can land on the bed with all the weight of a feather

:D
She's thinking... "If I stretch juuussst a little more, I'll be able to touch the floor again." ;)
Zam doesn't like to be held either because of her plushiness. ;) :D

Thanks for all the replies.:)
Notice that she didn't get lifted higher than knee level in the photo.
She also lets out a long Meeeeeeeeeeoooooooooowwwwww when we try to pick her up.
The funny thing is if you are sitting on the floor she is all over you!
Now I have the urge to look up Macy's Parade Balloons on Google, I think they have a Garfield one that may resemble Samantha.;)

CAPTION: Be thankful this picture doesn't have an audio track!
Pixel is like that, she HATES being held and will squirm and squirm and carry on until I put her down. However, if Daddy picks her up she just sits there, content as can be. Randi is lovely to hold, but even he will forget his Ragdoll roots and squirm or complain loudly.

OH GOD, NOT AIRBORNE AGAIN!!!!!!
Speckles is 16 and absolutely HATES to be picked up or held in any way. It's really frustrating especially when she can't clean her backend good enough and I just want to take a washcloth to it.

Misao absolutely despises being picked up and held. She'll squeak when you pick her up (she's normally completely silent) and then she'll push against you with her front paws completely extended. Usually those paws are pushing against your chin as if to say, "Whew, you've got some bad breath human." :D
She will come into your lap for an occasional cuddle but usually just prefers to sleep on the bed with us at night.

Aww, poor Samantha sweetie! Have to laugh though!:D
I think, as Sara wrote, she looks just like one of those sit-in protesters being carried off. :D
Ebby will let me pick her up and move her a short distance, from my bed to her room, or past the big bad doggie to the stairs, but to lift and cuddle, only for a few seconds. Until the other day, Wednesday, when we had a little breakthrough. She actually let me hold and stroke her for nearly a full minute, twice! It made me so happy, those little black paws on my shoulder and her face close to mine! :) Haven't tried since though, don't want to push my luck.:D

The indignity of it all!
Tabasco is like that when I pick him up. He's grown-up now, but I like to pretend to mother him and he gets all embarrassed in front of the other cats ... put me doowwwwwn! :)

I am still laughing over the Macy Day Balloon comment :D :D
My old guy, Kitty, does not like to be held at all. As soon as you pick him up he immediately meows plaintively, then stiffens up and tries to push away from you using his front feet. He has always been this way - since he was a stray, I always wondered if he had been mistreated in some way to make him hate it so much. He loves to be near me, but not held by me.
