I just got back from Jaden's parent teacher conference. As some of you may remember, he was partially deaf up until last year and they've tried to diagnose him with everything from autism to ADHD.
Well, we got his hearing fixed last year, and started him on ADHD medicine in September. May of last year, at 5 years old, Jaden test scores varied from 2 year old to 4 year old level in all the categoies. I just went to a conference at his school. As of today, at 6 years old and less then a year later, he is scoring from a 8-10 year old level on all categories!!! The teacher and psycologist used the words genius and brilliant to describe my son. They want to change his curriculum and when he gets into 2nd-3rd grade (he's in Kindergarten now) put him into a gifted class. His only thing that he is behind in is motor skills, and we are going to put him into occupational therapy for that.
You have no idea how happy I am. I cried everyday last year because my son was so far behind and had no clue. He went from being the worst kid in the school to well beyond everyone. Jaden used to come home and ask me why he was so stupid. I'd cry myself to sleep at night and I would tell God that I'd give up anything if he'd fix my son. This is a true miracle. All of the bad things that have happened this year mean nothing to me. This one miracle makes up for it all.
Ok! I'm a day behind schedule...I'm supposed to already be in So Cal. Gotta go! Have a good weekend.
