I will be picking him up on Wed the 17th. he is an owner surrender.
Auggie is about 10 years old and declawed. His "dad" (and I use the term loosly) got married and the cat has to go. (allergies. )
I can't wait to meet him. Poor guy has been living alone 4 days at a time while his "dad" is now in another house. This guy is going to want some serious attention (I hope). I hope he likes his new roomates (which he won;t meet until at least after Friday when he has his vet check up). So those first days he can get used to one room and me before having to deal with Bailey, Lizzie and the others.
I'll let you know more after I get him.

AW Jen, he looks adorable. I know it's not my place to judge, and maybe surrendering a pet instead of just abandoning is a better choice, but how can someone throw away a cat who has been part of the family for years???
Thankyou for giving Auggie a chance to find a new home where he will be appreciated!

Allergies translated = wife doesn't like the cat.
Poor guy must be totally confused at being dumped after 10 years.

Oh Jen he is beautiful!!! Poor baby has got to be love starved! I don't understand people! It makes me angry on one hand but then glad that they just didn't throw him out on the other.
They had a poor 2 year old kitty come into the shelter last night. He is an orange and white declawed sweetheart! She said that he was just to much trouble to take care of!!!! Stupid *$&^%!!
Anyway, I watched the expression on his face and it was just total shock. He had no idea what had happened to him or what was going to happen. I felt so very sorry for him and it made me so angry at that stupid woman!!!
I'm so glad for Auggie that he is coming to stay with you. He will still have a home environment and LOTS OF LOVE!! Auggie will probably be happier with you then he has been alone in his home! I would love to see more pics of this handsome guy!!

Jen - Auggie is definitely one lucky kitty to spend some time at your house.
Any chance that this guy's ex wife wants Auggie? I ask because several cats have ended up at our local shelter when one spouse was determined to get in a few "last digs" by getting rid of of their pets just to hurt the other.
Jean (the lady who runs the shelter) has been successful on a few occasions tracking down the ex and inquiring about this. In a couple of cases they had been told that the cat had run away and hadn't been found. They were quite surprised to find that their kitty was alive and well at the shelter surrendered by their ex. Needless to say, they were adopted back to their family.

Poor Auggie, given up like that. Yet lucky too, because he has ended up at the best place he could be, with you.
Hope all goes well for him and you.

Auggie is gorgeous! I hope he is not traumatised by the experience.

I'll let you know more after I get him. He sure is a handsome guy! I would use the term "owner" loosely too in his case.

What a beauty Auggie is. It still boggles my mind how anyone can just give up a beloved pet without even thinking twice about it. Breaks my heart.
Can't wait to hear more about him Jen on wednesday, if you are able to tear yourself away from this gorgeous boy.;)

I picked Auggie up from his owner yesterday. The man (who remarried an "allegic" person) is widowed, so no ex-wife to cantact. :(
Auggie is a BIG boy. And very VERY sweet. His age will hinder him, at 10, but I have high hopes that someone will not be able to help themselves but fall to in love with him.

Auggie is so adorable!!! I'd take him in a heartbeat if I could. At 10 he'd be the youngest in the house! ;)
Reminds me of KAK's Pepper. :)
Welcome to your new temporary home, Auggie. Best of luck to you in finding just the right furrever home. :)

Oh my gosh how did I manage to miss this thread. Auggie is so beautiful and I really have a soft spot for older kitties. I would take him in a minute if I could.
Auggie, please don't worry. You've got a wonderful foster Meowmie and she will find you a loving home. I just know it.
