View Full Version : Can I be Forgiven??

I was a thief today. I couldn't help but see that half starved pregnant cat sitting on that porch wanting in...her cries ignored. Can I be forgiven for sitting staking out the area I have taken umpteen bazzilion cats and kittens out of already, but coveting this one? Am I totally evil for giving her a can of food that she launched into like a rabid animal? GAWD I'm so bad! But .....I sinned, and I have the baby here, skinny little tabby and white sweetheart of a kitty. Should I return her? Am I that BAD a thief? I suspect so :D :D :D

QueenScoopalot,

Good for you!!!! You are NOT a thief. You RESCUED that poor little girl whose STUPID, IRRESPONSIBLE OWNERS  didn't give a rat's patoot about!!

Should you return her??? Absolutely NOT!!! I highly doubt they even realize she's gone. If they don't care enough to let her in in this cold weather, or to feed her, they certainly don't deserve to get her back.

UGH!!! That just really pisses me off!!

I agree, you are not a thief you are a rescuer. Hopefully they'll grieve over her and if/when they get a new kitty they think twice about leaving it out alone and hungry in the cold.

Poor kitty. I'm so glad you were there for her. :(

I think you did the right thing rescuing this poor kitty. My heart breaks thinking about the poor hungry cold preggie kitty:(

Bless you for getting involved - the world needs more people like you!

My guess is that not only did you rescue her and these babies but probably lots of future babies as well. That is if the poor thing lived that long.
I would have done exactly what you did and prayed that it was the right thing. I don't see how it could have been wrong! Keep us posted on this very lucky baby girl.

I wish you could come here to State College and get one in a god-awful trailer park from hell. I have been in there a couple of times and haven't been able to find her again. *sigh* The "owner" is a super creep with a a 4 page rap sheet. We were at the police station on Wed evening speaking with a Sargent and he was totally surprized that this guy didn't stick a gun in our faces when we talked to him and asked for the cat. He won't let her in the house at all and claims he feeds her but there is no set feeding station. I won't even get into how bad the dogs are there..but they can't do anything with PA's crappy laws. They can't even do anything about getting the children out.

Sometimes people just suck.

Now that the little tabby's been eating really well, her pregnancy is seeming to be well along. Poor baby's spiny from lack of proper nourishment, and has gorged on 3 cans of wet food, and quite a bit of kitten chow since last night. She's very sweet and dainty. No guilt here heee, hee, heee! :D :D :D : Denyce.. Sure hope you can find some help, for the trailer park kitty. I've trapped lots in local trailer parks around here, and it never seems to end.

QueenScoopalot,

Dry kitten food as well as canned kitten food is the best thing for her. It's got tons of the stuff she needs while pregnant. Have you named her yet???

Pictures please! :D

Great to have no guilt, but if you did it's becoming the Easter time .I think God (or whatever you beleive in)(pc enough?) forgives those helping his creatures.
Glad shes doing fine.

Sounds like you did a good thing for that poor pregger puss. Now she has a chance to have a healthy litter and a happy new home. You are most definitely NOT evil; you did the right thing. Thank God (or our higher power) for putting people like you on this planet.

Don't anyone worry....no guilt here, just the guilty pleasure of getting one more off the streets! Well one plus more on the way. "Blossom" as I named her (from the street she came from, and the fact she's blossoming with kittens) went to be combo tested, and went into another foster home. If I knew how to send pictures here, I would. I got yet another dumped HUGELY pregnant girl from the next street over today. She'll be staying here as she's so close to popping I don't want to stress this new sweetheart out. She'll have 2 stories, and hopefully three by the beginning of the week. I'll take pictures of this girly who I've named "Chelsea" for the lovely (said w/sarcasm) city she came from. She's been hanging around an auto body shop for a few weeks, and I've been driving around half the day looking for her, and saw her waddling down the street to go have some food. Catnip did the trick catching her! Plenty of good eating coming up for Chelsea!! :) :) :) I'll keep everyone posted on the new arrivals to be! :D

You're the savior to this sweet furball. She was taken from uncaring "owners" who totally ignored her. For this you should be commended!!

It isn't YOU that needs to be forgiven....not by a long shot.

Blossom's uncaring owners should be left out in the cold. (((hugs))) to Blossom!!

I'll relay the hugs to Blossom's foster meomie, and give lots of hugs to Chelsea who's here and couldn't be happier! :) :) :) She's a big girl, and I haven't a clue as to how many she would have given birth to on the streets, but I'll keep everyone posted on the big event. She's a bit dirty from sleeping on the streets, but I'm helping her clean herself up. Bad earmites to top it off, but I'll be sure to knock those buggers out fast. :D

I am going to do the same thing with my neighbors cat. She throws her out of the house and leaves her out in all weather and I am feeding her. I am looking actively for someone to take her so she will be better taken care of. Someone around here is poisining the animals and she knows this and still throws her out of the house and leaves her out for days. She is the sweetiest thing too and wants so much attention!

I'd scoop up the little girl in a second if she were closer. I live on the east coast however. I hope that you can find someone to take the kitty before some nutcase poisons her too. I love your quote about special needs kitties...I have a very big weak spot for special needs kitties, and tend to keep the really special ones. My house looks like the aftermath of a war with crippled cats, brain damaged cats, deaf, one eyed etc. :) I've been worried about one of my most handicapped ones "Thumbelina" who has many birth defects. She's been quiet lately (unlike her) but isn't acting sick in any way. I guess a trip to the vets is needed as it would crush me to lose her.:(

Queenscoopalot,

After reading this post, I think we are from the same area. I know the Chelsea of which you speak - what a small world!!

Are you the same diane that used to semi- help animal umbrella kinda in an indirect way- or at least knew miss A.M.T.?
Are you aware of the colonies in Chelsea? Like in the Carroll ave area/Webster ave? (we got a tom 2 winters ago in this neighborhood which is out of control- his ears were so frostbitten and yet people walked by and said things like. "He's being fed by an old man, leave him be!" (not on you're f-ing life are we going to "leave be' a cat that's freezing...).Poor thing.
Just around the corner have recently discovered a situation of ferals eating trash. the woman that lives there says she feeds them (then why did I see one pick up a paper towel and run with it several trash nights ago..?). Anyway, being the season that it is, i'm inclined to frequent the area and watch for bulging bellies!

:) :) Forgiven? As far as I am concerned you are a ANGEL!!I am so glad to hear that "Blossom is doing well. And that poor little Chelsea, walking around sad, preggers, and hungry. thank god you rescued her too.You are not a thief, I would have done the same thing. Those people and many others like them do not deserve to have a cat or any animal. I am so tiried of seeing all the homeless cats on the streets. I do what ever I can to help them. I am so glad you do too! Keep us posted on Chelsea.
