I thought it might be nice to start a thread about the success of the shelters you all work with and keep tabs on the adoptions. So if you work with a group, foster or just find homes for the homeless on your own, lets keep a running total of those that are finding homes.

I'll start:

Today at our event 2 adult kitties found there forever homes with a 3rd pending.

Two that a friend & I rescued in a gang ridden area of the city got a home together. I think Willow & Puff were mother & son. Also there's a deposit on another young tom cat from the same neighborhood. Three in 2 days, and many more waiting for the vet to do combo tests etc. Luck has it we have a new Petsmart that moved in local to the shelter I bring them too, and the shelter has extra exposure and many more adoptions because of this! :) I'm glad this shelter's been helping me out as they've adopted out close over 50 cats and kittens for me in the last several months. Have to check my calendar to get an accurate count.

Got a home together? Great news! Willow (long-haired grey female) was the cat we saw eating a paper plate in a gutter that must have had food on it at one time and Puff was just a half block away and was a filthy dirty long-haired white boy (unnuetered). So I am assuming they were neg. neg.?
Any idea who adopted them (what kind of home, a family, single person etc?- it's just nice to picture them in their new homes and be able to send them photos of where they came from when possible...)

i dont do the foster care that i used to do because i'm living in a small space and not near vets but i try to help when i can- most recently is boston's poor areas where Willow and the white cat came from...eating paper makes me sick to witness. Willow had one paw on a paper plate and was pulling with her mouth on the other end...too sad- but now she's in a home and happy so it's a good thing to see these situations in the long run. kind of like watching animal precinct. It's heartbreaking and yet addictive!

This sunday gave way to 4 adoptions. 3 were older kittens (6 to 8 months) and one was an adult. As a matter of fact, the youngest kitten and the adult (not related) will be homed together. How exciting. The wife liked the one and the husband liked the other :D:D
