Remember my Gawd Awful experience at Motel 6? Well, after several complaints and whatnot, I finally got a letter from someone special saying that they apologize, but that is all they can do for me. Their decision is final and they take pride in Motel 6. -That it is my word against the managers word. (Apparently several cops and a police report is not sufficient information.)
Remember that next time you or a family member is looking for a hotel.
That having your family's life put on the line and sleeping 1/2 a night in a urine stinking hairy bed isn't worth compensating.
Here's my thread just in case you don't know what I'm talking about...

Oh, believe me! That was the first and last time that I stay at a trashy hotel. It was probably the first time that I was getting a hotel strictly for sleeping, so I didn't see the big deal. It wasn't like I was on vacation. WRONG!

I don't understand how that kind of hotels can stay open and keep running.. we have 2-3 trashy hotels near my area, and basically, not a lot of people stay there.. they go for the nicer ones. I'm sorry you had to go through that..

Just more proof that "you get what you pay for":D You got a lot for the cheap price of the room... nightly entertainment, something to talk about with friends afterward, and a new personal crusade (telling the world how awful Motel 6 is.) You'd never get this kind of long-lasting fun with the a higher priced hotlel.:)

Lol, true! I'm so bitter that I am working on a letter that I'm sending every newspaper within a 200 mile radius of Redding. I'm also going to send it to the better business bureau and post it on every website that will let me. Mike says I'm being bitter and obsessive. But I told him that is the only way that I can let this thing go and feel better. I'm so pi$$ed!

It's the only way youre going to get compinsated at all. Motel 6's *along with most chain hotels* are mostly either remotely managed with little corperate interference or franchised so the coproration has NO say in what goes on. Lucky for us, the trash motels around here arent chain motels...theyre just ****ty old motels the arabs *I'm not being racist, they really are all owned by arabs* bought for cheap and figure they can turn a profit on. I lived in a motel like you discribed for like a month *ugh* and I couldn't ***** cause well...who would listen? **** crummy motels!
Oh BTW pardon the language....

I've gone through about the same thing only at a Holiday Inn, in Tampa. So better doesn't always mean you'll get better.
When Pauls mother was in the hospital, 4 of us stayed in Tampa to be closer to her. Long story short, there was partying in the parking lot, in rooms, broken windows, a naked woman running around the parking lot etc etc. The poilce where called and finally at 4am it calmed down some. The next day the front desk gave our room key out to Kim's (sister-in-law) ex-husband while we where out. We come back to find him in the room. We complained, of course, but it didn't help. Again more problems, Kim and her new husband left and I guess the front desk gal thought we all left so next thing we know Paul and I are in the room and here she comes walking right in at 11:30 at night. Shocked to see us there, she ran out. Back down to the front desk we went to complain again. The girl that came into the room would not say what she was doing up there, instead she walked off her job and quit.
After 2 days of He*% all we got for our problems is 2 of our long distance calls for free!
I think when it comes down to it, it's all a matter of who runs the hotel and the area it's in more then the chain. But I still think they should have refunded your money, at the very least, as they should have done for us.

When my husband and I were 19, (we were married at 18) we were driving home (to florida) from Maryland. We stopped in south carolina for the night. We stopped at a Holiday Inn, they said they couldn't give us a room unless we were 21. The guy at the desk said you can stay over there (pionting next door). The place was called the "Swamp Fox Inn", it was dark and creepy. We were sooo tired we stayed, but I think we both slept with one eye open the whole night. There were scary people outside. We will never stay in a place like that again. It looked like one of those cheep, creepy places in movies where people are dealing drugs and killing people. I'm glad to now be 21.
