Woman drives car into lake in film re-enactment

A woman who drove her car into a lake, told police she was re-enacting a scene from Mel Gibson's film, The Passion of The Christ.

The married woman in her 40s drove the front of her car in the lake in the A.W. Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain.

She was taken to hospital, but apparently escaped injury, police said. A spokesman said no charges will be filed.

Although police couldn't say which specific scene motivated the woman, they believe she was attempting to be baptised, says the New Britain Herald.

And Jesus was a sailor, when he walked upon the water
And he spent a long time watching from his lonely wooden tower
(from “Suzanne” by Leonard Cohen)

Jesus didn't drive, silly. When you walk, you can take as many as want to follow with you.

He would walk, for sure. He wouldn't be able to reach people sitting in a car.

Aw Shucks... she was just looking for her ten minutes of fame. Perhaps she's hoping that a local car dealer would take pity on her and give her a new car for free?

I think that *if* Jesus were to drive, it would definitly be one of those tourbus deals- sort of like the Rolling Stones.

At a minimum, it would be a double decker bus, Richard. But I think Jesus would prefer to walk, where many, many more could follow him. :)

Had to edit............I'm thinking a train would be better for Jesus.........trying to think of anything that would be as large as possible!!!!! :)

I think he would drive a Mercedes CLK 500, an SLK500, or a Infiniti G35, because he would drive in style (and those are excellent cars.) But ultimately, I think he would go for the Linginfilter Corvette, cuz those things are the mad notes!

Actually,
It started as a film thread, then it morphed into a car commercial.....

Logan,

I thought about the train angle and, If Jesus was the conductor and loaded all the people on would it then become the "Soul Train"????
------------------------------
And before any thing else happens...
I did not start this thread as a comment on any religion or religious icon, I was merely commenting on the woman who drove her car into the water. She may have been confused like me..in the movie there is a Pontius Pilate - even I know the airplane had not been invented yet.

Yes! And the trees and birds and flowers love you more, too!

I LOVE Mini's. If I hadn't bought my VW New Beetle, I would have bought a Mini ... or maybe a PT Cruiser.

RICHARD,

... maybe it WAS Jesus?;)

Now, there was a baptism scene in "O Brother, Where Art Thou." Maybe religious films are making a comeback?

Was Janis referring to Jesus' dealership when she sang "Oh, Lord...won't you buy me...a Mercedes-Bentz?"

I enjoy discussions about beliefs; must be the dangerous topics- sex, religion, politics, (diet?)- are somehow easier on the internet than face-to-face?

As I recall, Jesus chose a donkey for his ride. :)

I agree with Mahayana:
Janis sang: Oh Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz. Most of us didn't hear that she continued ...."like yours":D

However there is one problem. In Hollywood movies it's usually the bad guys who drive the Merce:p
