Remember Smokey (and Mao) who came from the scene of a murder/suicide? Well, Smokey has found his new home. He will be going tomorrow to live with a very nice lady who has a 6 year old daughter and 2 cats. A 3 year old male cat who is a 20 pound version of Smokey and a 5 pound, 16 year old lady cat who doesn't want to take the time to play with the younger cat. So Smokey is to be his new buddy and playmate.
Actually, the lady originaly had come to visit with Mao, but found that Smokey's personality more fit her situation. (What I didn't tell her was that I already KNEW Smokey was a better match than Mao for her family. I just let her figure it out on her own).
So wish Smokey luck! :)

Smokey - Have a wonderful life in your new home. How great that you are going to have a new best friend to romp and play with. Please be kind to the senior lady cat. She might be grouchy every now and then. Just let her have the softest places in the sun while you play all day.

Another great job, Jen.

I'm working on it!!!!!

Smokey (now Sullivan) is doing great. The new mom told me that he walked out of his carrier just like he had always been there. His new buddy Gilbert and he had the usual hissy fits at first but are making friends.

I am glad to read that Smokey, now Sullivan has been adopted and is doing well in his new home.
Perhaps Gilbert and Sullivan and their mommy would like to join Pet Talk. :)

Smokey has had a BIG TIME oops!

He peed on his new mama's coat!

The new mom actually talked to Deb, not me so I don't really know any of the details. But Deb says the new mom seems OK with it. But I worry that if he keeps it up, you know people only have so much patience.

She's going to get some feliway. Time will tell.

Jen, I'm sorry to hear this. Hopefully he won't continue this kind of behavior. I'd hate for him to lose his new loving forever home. Please keep us updated when you can.
