But I'm not sure which yet.
I had a cockiteil, my mum got him for me from a farmers market and he was fully grown etc and just would not be tamed, he was lonly and when i started college they had a female so i gave them bubble and he perked up and was happy.
So i'm not sure how easy birds are to tame, if i got one from a pet shop from a youngish age.
Ive allways like Rabbits/guienapigs, but if i got one i would like it to be semi inside but its the house training thing.
Reptiles etc are out of the question!
I thought about another gerbil but its the sexing thing, i dont know what mine is and they are hard to sex at a young age from a petshop.
any ideas?

Sounds like you need a chinchilla they are active at night and early evenings. The can be cuddly but still entertaining. They also can be left for a couple days if finals get to be hectic . Just make sure you have food for them . They are very clean and smart. They live quite a long time too.

I never thought of a chincilla.
I'm not at college anymore.
I would LOVE a ferret but I have know idea where to get one from, my friend got hers from a rescue in a city near me.
Infact when my paycheck comes i might head of and see what they have.
I know the basic care of them as my friend left hers in my care for 2 and a half weeks(when she went on holiday across the world), and my god does she love her ferrets and she trusted me with them, and she cares for them EXTREMLY well so if that didnt put me off,lol

A ferret is an excellent idea for a pet. Just be sure to research and read ferrets for dummies before getting one. They are very loving and entertaining.

I have two rats. :) They make wonderful pets, but I find them difficult to care for at times. You really have to spend lots of time on them.

RATS!!!
i have four.!!!!
I would suggest two males if you get rats. Females are hyper and more active then males who just like to play and cuddle. lol
I love my ratties, they need vet checks though, but other then that they are fairly easy to care for.
You can give them baths!! lol I love giving my boys baths!!! lol
They love it..
they also need a big cage to live in, i would suggest a cage with 3-4 levels...
IMO Rats make great pets.

The best ferret store on-line: The Ferret Store (www.theferretstore.com) Awesome cages- and cheap too, along with other ferret supplies.
Excellent cat, dog, and other small animal supplies on there too. :)

Get a hand-fed bird. You'll never find a more loving companion. ;) My birds were not hand-fed, but they were 3 months old when I got them, and it took just one week for them to turn into the sweetest cuddly birdies on the planet.
Birds do require a lot of attention though. They require attention, and a lot of time out of the cage, as they are very social animals. If they don't get enough of that, they become upset/bored, and can become nippy. Personally, I like birds the best, of all small animals, because of their great intelligence, talking/singing abilities, playfulness, long lifespans, because they are beautiful, and extremely funny and entertaining.........and for so many other reasons. If you get a young bird, trust me..........it wouldn't be the same as an older *non-tame* one. I've had experience with both tame birds and non-tame ones, and they are just uncomparable.
Good luck on your quest to find the perfect new pet, whatever it may be!
