Hi, all! I just had some nutrition-related questions for the lovely pet talkers. :) I'm just wondering how often to feed organ meats (hearts, livers, gizzards, etc) and HOW they should be fed (ground, whole, cooked, raw). Any information would be, as always, greatly appreciated! Thanks a million!

we feed then several times a week, we cook liver for treats, other wise you feed organ meats raw and chopped up, not ground, just cut into cubes kind of thing, and mixed in with veggie slop. :)

alex gets raw liver, cut up into pieces, once or twice biweekly. i bake the other liver into hard pieces to use for training treats. i feed ground up beef heart twice a week. i do cut off the visible fat before i grind the heart in the food processor.

Mine used to get organ meats in their mix twice a week. For meals, they were cut just so they weren't too big for them. For treats, they were cooked and chopped up in little bits.

Thanks again for your replies! I bought beef hearts, and chicken livers and gizzards. YUMMY! :) I'm going to be separating and freezing meat when I get home tonight. Heck, I'm probably going to be getting a freezer soon. :) Mine above my fridge is getting full.
