It's a story that was ripped from the headlines. Today we will discuss the tragic case of Diane Whipple who was mauled to death in her San Francisco apartment building by her neighbor's dogs. We'll be joined by the captain who was on duty at animal control that night as well as true-crime author Aphrodite Jones, who has written a book about this case. We'll also hear another sad tale of a young girl who was mauled to death when she was staying in the home of a friend's house. The two children were left alone in the house with 6 large dogs when the attack occurred. We'll meet another young woman who, at the age of four, was viciously attacked by a wolf hybrid (half-dog, half-wolf). She survived the attack, but not before the animal brutally tore through her skull and nearly severed her ear. Our last guest was convicted of manslaughter when her dogs were held responsible for the death of woman from her neighborhood. She wants to warn people from owning animals that were bred for violence.

GREAT now Montel is going to give dogs a bad name! :mad: You should always be careful with dogs and kids but I have a feeling this show is going to start even more hatred towards dogs of certain breeds, LIke part wolf, we all know sweet Drake who is part wolf, does that make him a monster! NO. Or what about Angus, cause he is a Rotweiler does that make him a horrible monster! NO, Grr, I hope this show isnt' what I think it's going to be but from Montel's comment I'm pretty sure it will be :mad: :mad:

I hope there is at least a behaviorist on there that will spell it out plain and clear. There are NO bad dogs ONLY BAD OWNERS!!!!!

The show will be airing Friday, I plan on watching it and if it is what I think it is, a bunch of people saying don't own this or that breed of dog, I WILL wright a complaint letter to Montel.

I agree, they should have a behviorist up on stage!

If presented correctly, this could actually benefit the animals. Maybe it will present how the parents could've behaved differently, or show how the dogs were mistreated or poorly trained.
I know, it probably won't. But someone should present it in such a way.

Here in LA a 91 year old woman had to have her arms amputated after she was mauled by a dog..



ORANGE, Calif. (AP) - A 91-year-old woman mauled by her great-grandson's pit bull was in critical condition Monday, with both arms amputated at the elbow, officials said.

Ruby Sharum and her granddaughter were putting away groceries Friday night when the dog growled and then lunged at Sharum.

Next-door neighbor Shelbi Moore said Sharum's granddaughter pounded on her door, screaming that her grandmother was being attacked. Moore said she walked into her neighbor's kitchen after calling 911 and saw the pit bull hovering over the elderly woman with blood stains on the floor.

"I was terrified," Moore said. "I had always thought that dog might hurt somebody."

Moore said she had called Animal Care Services at least 10 times in the past year because she and her two young daughters feared the dog.

The dog was euthanized on Saturday by county animal officials.

i was just shocked to of seen that,i never thought that it would give dogs a bad name:( but reading the replies here i guess it could give them a bad name :mad:

and it shows how neglected dogs are these days :( shoot i remember when i was a little girl i'd ride my bike down a street minding my own bussiness then out of the blue a dog would start chasing me i would get so scared i mean this dog didn't have a friendly face on it it had a visous face on it the the owner was no where to be found :rolleyes: thatt wasn't the only time that dog would chase me.finally my mom found the owners number and called them a raised cain she said if they don't get their dog under control then she would call animal control.

i know that most dogs aren't bad but thanks to that mean dog i never go near big dogs and i pick up truffles when i see one and run home.even though the owner is w/ the dog i still get scared.uless i know the owner thats my rule i don't touch a dog weather its small medium or especially large i don't touch it.call me nuts but i just don't touch a animal unless i know the owner .take care:)

I'm with all of you, I really hope they don't make it seem like the dogs' faults.
Shows like that just remind me of those "Good Pets Gone Bad" shows. They make me so angry. They never place any blame on the owners...:mad:
