my dog stays in my room when im at school.she tares it up real bad were going to get a large pin and stick her in their while were gone. have any sugesstions on where we could by a large pin. thanks:D

Do you mean a crate? or an X-pen? I got both my crates from Pet Supplies Plus. They were very reasonable. Leo is 80 lbs and his was $50 and Penny Lanes (40lbs) was about $35.

Make sure the dog has lots of chew toys to occupy her time. A treat stuffed Kong is the best. Dogs can spend hours digging treats out of it and wear themselves out. Also make sure you don't have anything laying around she can get to.

A couple of things you can try to keep her/him? calm - play light classical music while you are gone and put a lavender sache in the room (where she can't get it). There are quite a few studies that show both these things have calming effects on dogs. :)

A crate is definitely your best bet - but make sure she has a chew toy in with her, and make sure you remove her collar before you crate her. If you have never used a crate before, you are going to have to take some time to get her used to it. As Wolf-Q stated in your other thread - make it a great place (treats and stuffed kongs) and build up in time gradually.
