On aim, I got instant message by someone I dont know and dont even have on my list. When they insant messaged me they were like "Hi is this Maggie?" im like "no this is Amber" and I ask who they are, and they say, "Amanda" and then she asked me "Do you know James?" and I said "Yeah I know a James" and then I asked her "where are you from?" she said parma, Ohio
She asked where I live and I dint tell her cause I have no clue who this person is. And I have no clue how she got my screen name. First she was on as sportspud245, and today she was on as panda51892. Today I asked her "Do I know you? How did ya get my screen name?" and then she goes " i g2g now ill ttyl" and that was that. Its just weird because I don't know who this person is. and just wondered if it was anyone from here. But I doubt it because you would have same this is blah blah from PT.

Should I just ingnore this person? Its kinda freaky

I think I would block both names sounds fishy to me. Better check your computer for spyware, sounds like your being tracked. There is a site to check for it but I don't remember what it is . Maybe someone could help.

Would it be someone from your class playing a trick on you or something?:p
I would block them if I was you.

Sounds weird to me Amber, block this person and don't talk to them. Didn't there used to be somebody on here that called themself Amanda, and then Allie, kelli and some other names? could it be that person?? They kept coming up with all kinds of different user names too, didn't they?

Just block them, and don't accept anybody into your buddy list unless you know who it is. If it is a friend they would ask you first and tell you what name they would be using anyway. Sorry, I am being a mother again. Can't seem to stop myself.

I would have blocked them too.
If someone won't identify themself right away to you, you have every reason to ignore them.

I believe there is a way to set up your AIM where you cannot get a message unless you approve someone, but I don't know exactly how.

lovemyshiba, thats something a young girl needs to watch anyway, don't you agree. Don't they have to ask first to be on your buddy list? I used to have that, but started using msn and yahoo. The good thing about yahoo, is that you can stay invisible even when you are talking to your friend. That is one reason I like Yahoo messenger.

But Amber, you block that person from seeing you online. Don't give out your user name unless you know who you are giving it too, and know you can trust them.

I've had random people add me to their msn messenger list without me knowing them. When I asked them where they got my address from, they said they were bored and just added any address they made up. Straight to the block list they went. Of course I deleted them from my messenger list as well. If I don't get a straight answer when I ask who they are or if they know me, I block them and take them off my list. That's my rule. :p He he....

Its very rare that this happens on Msn Messenger, or on Yahoo Messenger, but it happens, and pretty much happens to everyone occasionally. Once you are on the internet, you are GOING TO have people you don't know add you. This only happens to me like once a year, even less, but it happens, nonetheless. Its up to *you* to stay safe on that and decide who you will talk to and who you won't talk to. Just block them and get it over with. :) This is a major issue I don't like about AIM. Once someone has your screen name, they can keep making new ones and adding you again. I know people can make new email addresses too, but they usually don't bother. :p I like MSN Messenger and Yahoo so much better than AIM.

'James' might have given Amanda your screen name.
And anyone can look at the threads with your AIM screen names.
