I'm sure this has been asked before, but oh well...I'll ask again. :p;)

I'm just curious...what do you believe is the perfect number of dogs to have [assuming you have the money, space, and time to care for them all]?

In my opinion...I think three is the perfect number. :)

What do you think??

Haha, scary. My dad and I were talking about this a few hours ago.

I think having 3 dogs is best. :) He, of course doesn't agree...lol. :p

Hmm .. for me it'd depend on the dogs. With unlimited money and ample time, I'd probably like 5 dogs.

I think I'd ultimately like to have 4. I've lived with 4 before and it's very nice :)

I think 4 would be the most. Wish I even had 2! Maybe one day...........

Yeah...one day...I'm with you on that one. --sigh-- :p;)

Moose needs a playmate...I'm convinced of it. ;)

Maybe one day...I could have at least one!:p lol

The perfect number for me would probably be two or three, but I'm not really sure now since I don't have a dog:(

i think 3 is an ideal number :D

But we have 4 at the moment, and the 2 littlies keep one another company whilst Clover and Elvis play rough and tumble games (The 2 littlies are classed as my Mums dogs)

I would like to get another Border Collie when i move out of home though :D Which will be before the end of the year.

Right now, 4 is the perfect number!!! :) If I had more space and time, I'd love to have many, but we definitely have enough, especially since we both work, have 3 skin kids, 2 cats, 2 birds (and more on the way).

Ideally, I liked having two, when it was just my daughter and me.

I don't know what my perfect number would be.... I would think if I had (like you said) the room and the money, I'd love to have 5!
But I do know one thing, I will never have less than two!!

Well, personally I want the maximum number of dogs that can fit in my home. :D

But...now that I've been bringing my dogs to the dogpark, I think two is a pretty good number. I break my neck trying to keep my eye on those two darting all over the place. Anymore dogs, I'd probably have to bring them out two at a time.

There would NEVER be a perfect number because no matter how many I had i'd always want more! :p

I think 4-5 would be my maximum. How anyone could have the time and money for 10+ dogs is beyond me.

I'd really love to have 4 sibes. Nebo would be one of them of course. ;) The rest from shelters and rescues. This would only be once I had my own house with a big fenced yard...

But for now, I'd be incredibly beyond happy to just have one other sibe. I'd love a female, around the same age or younger than Nebo. I've seen some perfect ones on petfinder. *sigh* :(

If I had enough money and time, I'd like 5 or 6. But not for quite a while, until I have my doggy daycare/training facility set up and stable.

6 is fine for now but I would LOVE one more! lol, but after I move that will change, my mom and I are moving to an acrage after I graduate, and I am going to breed(and rescue) border collies, I will have my own kennel, my mom though wants to breed as well, preformance dogs, she would be a totally different kennel though, and would not be related to mine in any way. of coarse I have to learn how to care for a flock of sheep before that lol cant breed border collies without livestock! not real BCs anyway lol:p

Well, certainly less than ten, that's for sure! I love all my dogs, but I will never have this many again. Not like I planned on having this many to begin with, most of them are just rescues that never left, for one reason or another.

Someday, after all these dogs are gone, I will own two dogs. Possibly three, but never more than three again. I never want to have so many dogs again that I cannot move to within the city limits of most cities. The dog pariah, that's me.

Of course, that's a long way down the road.

For us it's really two. Or three that get along well, lol. I'll never jsut have one dog again. While I think we did ok playing with Chester before we got Millie, we can't play the way those to play together. I'm sad that Chester missed out on that for so long.

I think about 4 would be perfect! I just got to convince my husband of that!
