My eldest cat, Mobius, went to the vet for her routine maintenance, and the vet saw a suspicious sore on her gum. He's been throwing the "C" word around a lot; I hope he's wrong. She gets her teeth cleaned and the sore removed and biopsied on Monday. Please send prayers for a successful outcome.

Thanks for reading.

Don't worry. I work for a pharmaceutical company and the first thing I did was dig out the Merck manual and do some research. Unfortunately, the info is pretty sketchy. I've been through this before and have to just take it one day at a time.

Moby (who's a girl, btw) is in great spirits. She doesn't seem to be in any pain.

Thanks for all your support.

Prayers for Moby, please make the vet be wrong.

I recently lost my cat Jock to cancer and I wouldn't wish the heartbreak on anyone, it was just so quick, painful and unfair:(

Mobius had a 1 x 2 cm growth removed from the inside of her cheek. No bone or teeth were involved; lymph nodes and tonsils appeared normal. Biopsy results on Thursday.

Moby is sleeping it off; she ate about 2 pieces of kibble and went to bed.

Keeping good thoughts for Moby for a speedy recovery.

I was happy to hear that the news from the surgery was good.

This is the worst part, waiting.

Prayers that the biopsy news is good.

I got really good news about Mobius. The "tumor" turned out to be a clogged, infected salivary gland. I need to give Moby clindamycin for 6 days, and take her to the vet in 2 weeks for a follow up to see how well her cheek is healed. The vet said that there was only a 10-15% chance that it was NOT cancer, so needless to say I am relieved.

Thank you SO MUCH for all your prayers and good thoughts!
