Jasper just got home from his first basic commands class, tonight was just a class of the trainer telling us what hes going to teach us, what we need..etc.!

Jasper was playing with a 7 month old rottweiler(who has a tail!! lol) the whole time, they got along really well!:D

The trainer said, some boxers are very agressive(sp?) and they arent typical boxers, he said Jasper is very good tempered, confident, alert, fearless....everything a boxer should be! :D

They use choker collars, but they hardly tug, its just to alert them, and 95% of the training is just using praise!

We had alot of fun!! They are going to learn Heel, Sit, Stay, Come, Down and he will also fix any behavior problems!

Eeeeep, do you have the option to just not use one? This is a puppy class they are using them in?

Is this the trainer you told us about before? Normally when you do formal training, you don't correct unless you're sure the dog knows it so it doesn't look like Jasper will get many corrections if you start him off right. Here's a tip I stick by when I train my boys because I also use formal training.. give double praise for a correct command after you do a correction (hope that made sense).:o

No this isn't a puppy class, it's a basic command class.

Yes thats the trainer, first I thought it was a guy, then I thought it was a girl lol but its a guy, for sure! :o Jasper probably wont need many corrections, he said the training depends on the dogs personality and size, like he wouldnt give Jasper the same correction as he gave the weimaraner, he helps us get to know our dogs, and then we know how to correct them and which ways they learn best, hes really good, he loves dogs he shows dogs, breeds dogs( ) trains dogs and grooms dogs...
