I have a question...I'm planning on making two tarts on Saturday morning. Any one NOT like the following??

How about a vote, just give me two that sound good to you:

Kelly Kountdown: 13 days until the BBQ (all other arrivals)

Tonya, Karen, Aaron & Tacey's arrival: 12 days

:D Kelly, I'm torn! The only one that doesn't really appeal to me is grape - the rest sound absolutely yummy!

I'm thinking of bringing chocolate cookies. I guess I'm going to bake them very late the night before (unless I can talk my mom into getting up early and baking them the day of departure muwhaha). I just hope they fare the plain ride. :eek:

I had the three year old here and my floor seemed to have grapes, raisins and all kinds of goodies on it.

My sis said - oh use the 5 second rule..........if it has been on the floor for five seconds or less - you can still eat it!

Guess when you guys have your food fight, I will put this rule into effect. HAHAHAHAHA

Rascal is thrilled that my next set of guests are ADULTS! He was really good around the kids though and even slept with them.

I did that once with Terry when he was over in Switzerland. It was about noon there - about 4:00 am here - and I got up to see him wave at me. :D Of course I missed him, but I did see his boss pass by. It was so cool, almost as if I was there, so I must know when you are going to be in front of this camera. ;) :D

Oh, but Slick, there are some that you MUST go on..........they are so incredible.

Haunted House is one...........I happen to love.

I think Kelly sounds as though she is an expert guide for Disneyland - and she knows which ones turn your stomach upside down.

My last and very last silly ride was on the tea cups and I had a contest to see who could turn it faster.............It took me days to get my stomach back in the right position!

What!! You guys are going to be here in 7 days - 9 days -

Like Gini said, the Haunted House is GREAT. You'll love it. Try to go at night.. it gives it that special effect. ;)

Space Mtn, now, along with Big Thunder Mtn are closed for repair/refurbishing. :( That leaves only the Matterhorn and Splash Mtn as far as rides with ANY speed.

There are a few, like Gini said that you MUST go on. The Haunted Mansion, Its a Small World (annoying, I know, but you have to go on it at least once!), The Jungle Cruise, Autopia, and of course, Pirates of the Caribbean!! All but the last one are children/family rides. :) Pirates has two small drops and then the rest is like a pirate themed "Its a Small World" ;)

Either way, there is sooooo much to do and see. :)

EDIT: Ew! I just went and looked at the little video of the "Matterhorn" and the music is soooo hokey and sooo NOT Disney. Wierd!!

I went to the World's Fair in NY city (OK, OK... years ago and I'm old) and it was the audition of "It's a Small World" and I looooved it! I can't go on things that spin around eeewwwww but used to loooove Roller Coasters. Can't even do that anymore after my brain operation :( Those sky rides that just float over the park are neat though!

The last time I was down at Disneyland was about 20 yrs ago and I remember the Pirates. It was cool. All the other sound great too.

The only rides I can't take are roller coasters, and anthing that turns you upside down and around really fast. Looking forward to Splash Mountain.:)

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I absolutely cannot stand It's a Small World. When I first went on the ride - Kelly's word ANNOYING doesn't even begin to describe my reaction.

When we got to the end of the ride and there was a sign (huge) that said BROUGHT TO YOU BY BANK OF AMERICA! - That did it!
I have never been on the ride again.

When my stepmother passed away my younger brother came to me and said that he had something from her that he just knew I would always cherish and he wanted me to have it.

IT IS A 33RMP ALBUM OF IT'S A SMALL WORLD.

So, if any of you give me a bad time at the BBQ, I am going to drag that out and play it non-stop for you. No, even I couldn't stand to hear it - so I won't.:D :D

Aww, sorry Laurie. I just remember it was tons of little dolls - all the same - with faces painted differently for Asian, African nations etc.

I am afraid of anything Big Thunder like etc. But when I was in Disneyland I went to the Pirates twice and loved the Haunted mansion (ok, somewhere in my mind I'm very young:D )- but I am not young enough for It's a small world..... Of course I never had heard the song before and now I think it's more spooky than the Haunted mansion- it could easily scare me away:D

The last time I was at Disneyland, the Haunted Mansion was all decked out in the Nightmare before Christmas theme. Very cute!

I'll be sure to bring last year's pictures to the BBQ. I know, I know...I've been so bad about getting the pictures out! :o

I wonder if Mr. Fish will make an appearance...hmmm...you never know where he might show! :D

Wow! This sure has turned into a long thread..:) I've been trying to keep up but have been having computer problems the last few days.:( Luckily my dad knows how to fix them so I'm back online again.:)

I love rollercoasters but I remember going to Orlando Florida when I was young and we went to Disneyland. I rode Space Mountain with my mom and brother. I was so scared that I couldn't even open my eyes.:eek: I don't think I'd even attempt to ride it now.

AmberLee stopped by on Sunday and dropped off the quilting squares and pens. The squares are pastel colors which are yellow, green, and purple. They should make a very nice baby quilt.:) Laurie, you don't need to bring any quilting squares because I have plenty unless you just want to.;)

I'm getting very excited and can't wait until Friday.:D

Hotel Cotte is now equiped with two glorious fans, one is called "Whisper Typhoon" and blows COLD air, just in case it was as hot as last year. We are giving you our bedroom and we went out yesturday and got some gorgeous shabby chic sheets and a light summer blankie for the bed.

I just got off the phone with Gini and arranged to be there to help pick Tonya up from the airport on Friday! YAY!!!! Can't wait!!! :) :) :)

Hi there, it's Slick from Gini's puter. We are starting to get food prepared and will leave for the airport in about 40 min to pick up the Zipster. I've already made friends with Rascal and had him drooling already. :D As for last night, I can tell that this weekend is going to be one laugh after another. Good thing I brought lots of diapers along.

Well I'm finally all packed and ready to go. I'll be leaving my place around 5pm and then driving down to Karen & Aaron's. They still have to pack, take care of their cats, and then on the way out we still need to drop off Priya at the vets to be boarded. We'll be getting a late start and arriving in the wee hours. My sides already hurt from laughing so hard and Richard isn't even here yet!!! We are working on last minute preparations before the rest of the gang arrives. Weather is superb. I've taken a few pictures of the furbabies, especially Rascal's tummy :). Annie will let me get about 5 feet away then she'll take off but I did manage to click a pic or two. Have only seen Emma from a distance.

Slick here: It's just after Midnight here and the party has wound down to a slow crawl. The last of the PT'ers are leaving and I'm about to go back to my hotel.

We ended up going to dinner with friends and then visited for what seemed like forever, and when we got home I was just too beat to get online. I wanted to thank Nomilyn, Staci & Miss Meow for calling last night. That was such a neat and fun idea! It really made the BBQ special and included lots of people we'd have LOVED to meet.

I think Richard has something when he suggested renting out the coloseum. Wouldn't it be great if we could start saving our pennies now and have a meeting at a place like that?? (David's suggesting Vegas, while I'm voting on Paris! ;) )

Hi everyone. I arrived home at around 8:30pm. Karen, Aaron, and I actually arrived in Gilroy at around 6:30pm or so but the traffic was terrible so I hung out for a little while and visited with their furkids.:)

I had a wonderful time at the barbeque yesterday and enjoyed meeting all of the new people this year. I also really enjoyed talking to Staci, Nicole, and Naomi. That was such a great idea for you to call us like that.:D Thanks again Gini for throwing another great Pet Talk Barbeque. I look forward to many more wonderful gatherings. Hopefully we can organize one in the Northern California area.:)

All weekend I've been dropping little hints to Terry - Friday night "Well, the party has started." Saturday afternoon "Party should be in full swing by now." Sunday "Everybody's off to Venice Beach today." Monday AM "They're all going to Disneyland today."

Finally he said "Enough! I feel guilty enough already!" I just looked at him sweetly and said "But I wasn't trying to make you feel guilty." ;) :D

Richard, can we reserve that spot for July of '07? Terry will be retired by that time and we'll have the motorhome much much closer to you guys. At this point, we'd definitely fly because it would take at least 2 weeks with the motorhome and who's got that kind of time?

KAK (Tracey) made the visors -- personalized with critters per our own darlings. I saw them all as they were being finished and was sworn to secrecy ... I almost burst. Didn't she do a great job? I got one, too ... think she was hoping she could talk me into coming (wish I could've joined them ... and had more time available for vacation/travel and a lot more money, sigh.)

Anyway, mine's adorable, too. I think it would be marvelous to see more of the nifty Pet Talk visors shown! :p :D :cool:

Sara, there were some very broad hints available on Pet Talk if you were very observant and obviously some guests were.

But it didn't spoil the surprise - Slick still has her mouth open in utter shock and glee!

I have to tell you that when I opened up my own package from KAK - Tracey - that I got big tears in my eyes.

Instantly you could tell that she had made our visors and with great care and attention to detail. My own visor has a big FAT ORANGE kitty grinning away, right in the front.

I know Tracey, that when the dust settles you will be receiving many thank you messages from everyone.

When Slick met Laurie in Seattle, Slick surprised Laurie with a MARIO!!!

This particular Mario is exceptionally talented because he can kick his legs and make non-stop monkey noises!

ZippyKat and Slick made a diaper for the Mario you see in the picture. Then they "turned him on" - (sorry for the pun - oh, I am not sorry at all:D ) When he kicked his legs he managed to work his diaper down around his ankles.

It was just like being at Thursdays and we hooted and hollered and howled. The only thing is he just wouldn't stop monkeying around and ONLY Laurie could calm him down and get him to be quiet!

The guy next to Mario is a "wanna be" Mario.

Well actually he isn't "HUNG" - he is sitting on the handle that opens and closes the umbrella. To keep his head up straight and not let him escape, his collar was wrapped around the umbrella pole.

Sadly, the Second Annual California BBQ weekend has come to a close.

Richard and I took Slick and Mizz Zippy to the airport this morning.

Thank goodness security is so tight that they won't let you stay curbside very long. Otherwise tears would have been flowing in a serious way.

We aren't allowed to go to the gates anymore and we saw police about every 200 feet all along the route through the airport.

It is a sad reminder of the times that we live in.

Please everyone, say a little prayer that Slick and Zip have a safe journey back to their homes.

And as Richard said, just think, it is only 362 days until the THIRD ANNUAL CALIFORNIA BBQ!!!!!

Yes, KAK did such a wonderful job on the visors, and I just had to thank KAK, Kelly and Slick again for the wonderful gift bags they prepared! Thank you also to Zippy for the furry mice! ;) The furkids have officially been spoiled!!

I have a little wooden wagon in my dining room that is filled with the kids toys.

Tonya put some furry mice in there - I saw her do it - none were spilled on the floor.

Well, this morning there are little furry mice all over my dining room floor and the candlesticks on the dining room table were dumped over.

Guess while we were sleeping the kids had their own PARTEE!!
