Young female. Very tall – looks like a long-haired Greyhound.
White with black on head and small spot on rump, one blue eye

PERMANENTLY IDENTIFIED BY MICROCHIP

Names: “Alice” and “Banana Bread”

Oh what a beautiful dog. She looks like a Russian Wolfhound.
I do hope she is found quickly. I hope she has a Guardian Angel
to guide her to a good person who can help her get home. :)

She is a Borzoi hound that was coming to a foster home in the area. She spooked when they were getting her out of the car and ran off. She is probably so scared right now, and there is a great deal of snow on the ground and the weather is going to turn very cold tomorrow.

Update - 1/12/04 - Last sighted this evening on the railroad tracks between Rodger Rd. and Cloverbank in Hamburg, NY. Houses in the area are leaving their garage doors open with food and water. If anyone sees Alice, please contact immediately.

I will pass this on to my aunt and uncle and cousins in the Buffalo area--I do believe one of my uncles brothers lives in the Hamburg area.

Was forwarded an email from the rescue. It is very important that they do not try to approach the dog. She is very skittish and will just run away. If you spot her at all, call the number in the first post and they will immediately send someone out who she knows. In the meantime - just crouch down and softly call and see if she will come to you. Possibly tempt her with food.

Poor baby.

I've not heard anything from my aunt or cousins. They aren't the type to go out looking, but would certainly let someone know if they spotted her.
