Hi everyone.
For a couple weeks now I've noticed that Daisy has a bump on her head. At first I thought it was a scab, because it looked "scab like", but as I was cleaning it one day, I must have accidently picked at it, and it started bleeding. If it doesn't go away in the next couple of days, she's going to the vet. No questions asked.

Here's a picture of it.

Any advice? Suggestions?

Thanks.

I don't know what that is or could be but I will be keeping Daisy in my thoughts. :( Maybe you should get her to the vet as soon as you can. If you said it's bleeding...it seems a bit more serious. But hopefully that's just me being a worry-wort like I am.

Yeah...that worries me too. :( I don't think she even notices it...she's still her goofy self.

Thanks for the reply. :)

I think I would get a vet to check it out ... it seem awfully red to me! Good luck! Please keep us updated!

Goldens have a tendency to get fatty cysts and sometimes they burst and bleed. It happened to Carina many years ago. It could also be a hot spot that was in the process of healing. The best thing will be for the vet to check her to give you peace of mind.
I hope it's something very easy to cure.
Hugs to the lovely Daisy from us.

Thanks guys. :)

It's really not that red as the picture makes it look. I was thinking it could be a wart, since they're common in dogs and that's what it reminds me of.

Either way, she's going to the vet if there is no improvement.

My friends lab had the same bumps on the side. They took her to the vet, and all it was, was pimples. So the vet poped them and got medicine on it. and she's fine. Maybe that is what it is.

(I didnt know dogs could get pimples, but they can!)

It looks like a wart to me. The vet will just probably tell you that the best thing to do is to watch it. If it changes in size or color, then be concerned. But usually as dogs age, even at the early years, warts just pop up, just like on us......:)

How's Daisy doing? Did you ever find out what was the cause of the bump?
Hugs to both girls.:)

I just saw this post, and that "bump" looks like one of Murphy's warts! But my Goldens, who are younger, don't have them. I'll be curious as to what your vet has to say, Julie, even if it is when you take her in for something else. Hope beautiful Daisy is doing just fine!!! :)

Whoops, sorry it took so long guys! :o
The bump is GONE! It's like it was never there. I've been cleaning that area everyday, and I guess over time it just got better. She's back to her normal, sweet self. :D

Thanks a bunch you guys!! :)

Maybe it was just a pimple or wart then.

I know when Tommy was about a year old he had a bump on muzzle, just above his nose, it seemed like a wart. Eventually it went away although you can still see where it was if you look really close, just because the hair is so short in that area.

Cody my RB collie got a sebaceous cyst on his shoulder when he was older. I think those are pretty common too. Sebaceous gland (that provides the oils to skin/coat) gets blocked or something I believe and a cyst can form there. They are completely benign but some can get pretty large and some stay really small.

Anyway, I'll quit rambling now. Glad Daisy's okay. :)
