My husband went into work today and heard that his one coworker was at the hospital because her daughter had a blood clot... he just called to say that she just died b/c the clot traveled to her brain! This girl wasn't even 16! How heartbreaking... and what is spooky is that I did her portrait over Christmas and turned her into an angel. She's now a real angel.

I am floored and my husband is absolutely beside himself because he knew this girl personally and he knows it could happen to us - our kids are the same age. She was healthy and involved in sports, grade A student. She was a great kid! Why does this always happen to the good ones?

Sorry to waste a thread on a non-cat item, but I feel as if you're my friends, and I wish there was something I could do... I feel so helpless.

What a sad thing to have happen! I'm sure all family and friends must be in complete shock.
It is very strange that you just did her portrait as an angel. Was it a gift or did they request it?
I will be sending prayers and positive thoughts to your family and theirs.
How sad.

Oh it gets worse... I Thought it was the older daughter that died, but it was the younger one. She was only 11 years old!

As for the angel portrait, her mom commissioned one of both daughters before Christmas as a Christmas gift to each daughter. I do these drawings where I take any photo and turn the person into an angel doing, well, angel things. The ones I drew for her were angels putting stars in the sky. I am floored that she is now dead and its throwing me through a loop that I drew her as an angel. Before I started doing the angel drawings, I said to my husband about how they might make some people uneasy because the people in the portraits weren't dead. I don't know if I could draw another one... it would feel too weird.

My heart goes out to them as well as any other family with similar crises in their lives. It makes you stop and value what you have right now.

How tragic and heartwrenching!!! :( I am sure that the girls mother will be comforted by the lovely drawing you did ... knowing now that her precious one is truly one of our Father's angels! God bless you, and my prayers for you, hubby and this little angel's family.

This is just so terrible, and you're right, at times we should stop and think about what we have and be thankful for it. There is always someone out there that is worse off than yourself, and I believe there are no words to express the loss of a child. May these people somehow find peace within.
