Mew, Abbey! We are so happy you live in a wonderful furever home! To think someone could abuse adorable you when you were a wee baby breaks our hearts. Knowing that you now live the life all pets deserve makes us soooooooo happy.
We love your picture; the crossed paws are so cute. Neat that you have C.J. Best wishes in your new home and, mew, I'm sure you will learn to love the new fur~parent who is "marrying into the family". What a score for the new fur~parent -- not only marrying your furson -- but you and C.J. too!

Hi Abbey! Congrats on being chosen "Dog of the Day"! I got married when my dog Goldie (a Golden Retriever) was 3. It was the best thing that ever happened to us. Sometimes I think Goldie loves her dad more than me!
"The best part of my day is coming home to my dogs!" -- I totally agree with you...I have two doggies myself and no matter what type of day I have, I always look forward to seeing my two babies. ;)
Congrats on both Dog of the Day and your marriage!!!!
:) :)

So excited for the four ofyou! Having had a bad experience, set the rules for all of you before the marriage. Obviously your animals are allowed on the furniture, probably the bed, too (and I applaud you). For the emotional security of Abbey and her sister, do not change this. Buy a bigger bed or couch if necessary. Explain everything to the animals and the significant other before the event. Since Abbey's been abused, her mental health is so important, and she should not feel abandoned if you change things.
Sound negative? Not if you realize the importance. Bless you and yours.

The Kid has sent you good advice. Natch, you want your furkids to be valued and safe with the person you marry. The furkids lived with you first and the rules you've established SHOULD NOT CHANGE.

How beautiful you are! It breaks my heart that you had such a rough start in life. I'm so happy you found a wonderful forever home now. The house may change but it's the family that makes a home anyway. It's so exciting that you will be getting a new daddy too! Congratulations on being our special Dog of the Day today, sweetie!:D

Dear abbylove,
So true isn't it.:) I love the sweet picture of Abbey snoozing on the couch. She is such a pretty girl. I'm so glad that you believe
giving an animal a forever home & family, means just that,

they can always count on being loved & cherished.:) Congrats

Hello Beautiful Abbey,
Congratulations on being awarded the honor of Dog of the Day! You sure are a lovely gal!
I see that Abbey is described as a husky mix; but when I saw Abbey's gorgeous photo, I immediately noticed that she looks very much like my purebred Australian Cattle Dog who is named Happy. I can tell by the adorable photo of Abbey relaxing on the sofa that she has a tremendous amount of the Australian Cattle Dog breed in her lineage. Her beautiful pointy ears, her facial features, her reddish brown foot pads, and her gorgeous coat markings (the red & cream coloration & placement) seem to be clear characteristics of the Red Colored Australian Cattle Dog breed. She looks just like some of the ACD photos I have of ACD reds and creams that were bred and raised for herding cattle in Australia. The breed is also known as the Red Heeler or Queensland Heeler.
I hope that Abbey's human companion will read this post so that she can tell Abbey about her Aussie heritage.

This Link will take you to an Internet website describing the Australian Cattle Dog Breed (http://www.cattledog.com/misc/intro.html)
It is wonderful that Abbey has a good home where she and her sister Lab dog CJ are both loved and appreciated. I'm sure that Abbey's human companions can count on her loyalty and devotion.
Best regards,
Anna Lisa
and her 3 dogs (who were all adopted from shelters)
