Oh, my gosh; this has to have been one of the longest 10-day stretches in my life. Seeing family was wonderful, but I didn't realize how much I'd miss Lefty. I called the kennel 3 times while I was gone. It did make me feel better--even though the owner reported that Lefty was a little nervous and barked quite a bit initially, and may have lost a pound or so during his stay, he also told me that Lefty and his "roomie" (female GR) were getting along really well.
I have been counting down the hours from 60 down (I counted days before that). I feel a little nuts but I don't care; I'm ready to have my dog back home! Arrgh!

I certainly understand how you must feel. Even when I've been away from my pups just overnight I can't wait to get back and see them. Your reunion with Lefty will be a major event :D

I now how you feel! I went on a Three day Vacation last summer to Pennsilvania and My sister in law stayed at my house to take care of the boys. Well on the second day she calles me and tells me that Max my Boxer has the runs and is getting sick so I make my vacation two days and when I get home Max was so happy to see me and I take him to the docs and doc says nothing is wrong with him (COLD, FLU) He just had a MAJOR case of Separation angsiety So now when we go on vacation all three of my boys go with us That was the one and olny time I was with out them:D

Well, it's good to know I'm not alone! :)
Lefty is home, and seems very happy to be here. He seems very tired, though--he's been napping on and off all day. He's a little on the stinky side, too, but we think we'll let him have a few stress-free days before we get him to the groomer's. I also think he lost more than a pound or so...he inhaled his dinner, so I guess he was quite hungry. The kennel owner had said he hadn't been eating all of his food--guess he got used to the good stuff! ;)
He had two "buddies" during his stay, and got along with them both. I do think this was a better situation for him than a standard kennel; I just wish it hadn't been for so long! I'm SO glad to have him back.

Good to hear that you're back & Lefty is back with family
again. (Not half as much as You & Lefty:D ) It's hard to be away
from them, isn't it. They never leave your mind when you're
away from them like that. :) Rest up Lefty.:)
