This is a mild rant. There was a commercial for Walmart that showed a kitten that they had gotten for Christmas. The Kitten was freakin' out. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I hope rescue groups are very careful about adopting kittens out near holidays like Christmas and Easter. A lot of times they're just another "toy that is not fun any more."
OK, end of rant.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas, Hanukkah, Solstice, etc. and has a great New Year.

Your rant is justified , as Kittens are not merchandise , but creatures ogf God , with feelings and lives. And to portray them , as gifts , not as an addition to a family , that needs food , love and vet care , for mabe 20 yeatrs , shows enormous Corperate Irrresponsibilty , on the Part of Wal Mart.BOOOOOOO!

I agree with you on that 100%. I have seen that go on here. College students get them here as gifts and at the end of school they are in the paper to be given away. Children get them as presents and then two months later they are up for adoption. I think that is so sad!:( They don't treat them like they have feelings, they are treated as a thing. Its not that way in all cases, but there are plenty.

Something worth repeating:
CATS AND DOGS ARE FOR A LIFETIME, NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS.
I wish people would get this through their heads.

Yeah, Wal mart is a pain sometimes. It pains me to see the way they treat their fish.

There was a pet store around here that had a commercial that stated, "Puppies and Kitties make great Christmas gifts!".
I wanted to scream.
