I've look in Petfinder.com and some of the rescue organizations and can't find anything.

Does anyone know where else I can look??

You surprise me a little. With all the rescue you do, I never expected you to limit your search to a particular breed. Don't get me wrong, I KNOW you are not looking for a breeder, that you are looking for a rescue, I guess the part that surprises me is that you are singling out a breed cat only.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you probably are thinking "I have room for JUST one more". Right? But what will you do when you find that breed cat, and then your next rescue cat is the one you wish you could keep? (Did that make any sense to anyone but me?)

Either way, I wish you luck, because whoever "wins" that spot in your home will be one lucky kitty. :)

P.S.
Before anyone gets mad at me, I am not saying that it is wrong to look for a specific cat, people do that all the time, I simply was surpised that Donna would narrow her choice by those criteria. It's just based on the way I see her (from across the miles)

Donna, girl- are you looking to rid your house of blankets and keep warm soley with cats? ;) You must have enough for a kitty comforter by now :p

Good luck in your search :D

Jen,

I am looking for a Munchkin or Aby RESCUE. I would never go to a breeder. You know me better than that.

I have a Heinz 57 variety of cats right now. 3 are purebred rescues. I even thought of adopting another Sphynx rescue. Moo would LOVE a girlfriend!!

There should be an Aby rescue site - some breeders do take their animals back if they are no longer wanted and have older retired cats that need good homes for a fraction of the price. Some breeders pts any older retired animals if they don't find a new home quickly. I would do an aby rescue search and then search for breeders to see if they have older cats. As for munchkins, I would try the same thing. I am sure that Moo and an Aby would get along really well! But then again I am VERY biased :D

I noticed that quote had gone from your signature. The one talking about still being in single digits ;)

Good Luck on the new kitty, I agree with Jen who ever wins that space in your home will be a very very lucky kitty.

All I can say is new cat MUST be followed by PHOTOS lots of.

Jen,

You told me this wise advice.....Don't be fooled into thinking that you choose a cat, in fact the cat chooses you ;)

Donna is hoping to be chosen by an Aby, maybe she'll be lucky and will be chosen by an Aby or equally lucky and chosen by another variety.

Either way adopting any rescue cat is a win win situation.

I found a Munchkin rescue!!!! :D :D :D

I'll be bringing her back from CT in January. She's a shy little girl who has had a few litters. She's a retired Champion and needs love an attention to draw her out of her shell, as she is very shy. My little Calico Munchkin, Shortie, will LOVE having another kitty to hang with who is at her eye level.

Here's her pix.http://www.sandkats.com/grafix/queens/may.jpg

I need a new name for her.

Speaking as someone who knows Donna pretty well, she likes to help animals in need. I won't begrudge her a purebred rescue if she wants one. Mike and I rescue dogs and Mike wanted a Dane, so we found a rescued Dane. I wanted a Weim, and found one, but unfortunately had to give him up....long story for those of you who don't know. I know that I never post on the cat side, but, I would like to share a story with you guys (which you may already know and ignore it if you've heard it). Last summer at the Findlay dog park, the dogs caught some baby rabbits and killed one and nearly killed the others. Donna, just sat holding the one (that eventually went to the Bridge after she got home) and trying to keep it alive. I was so touched by that. She's a lot braver than I was...I couldn't watch. Anyway....I digress....sorry...I'm very happy for you Donna...she's gorgeous.

Some times I feel like I can't actually SAY what I am thinking because people only want to hear good things. If you actually read my first post I SAID I KNEW the cat would be a rescue. I also said that I KNOW people some times look for a particular breed. I was simply saying that I was surprised. Is that some kind of crime?
I am glad you found what you are looking for and I know she will be perfect for you.
But don't expect me to give anyone an honest opinion any more.

In the last year I have seen three Aby rescues with the youngest being seven month old Ruddy female (now our Peaches), a six year old Blue male (a good home with a dog he absolutely loves) and a seven year old Ruddy male (now with my sister). Get your name circulating among the rescue groups and what you're looking for and it will happen. We weren't even looking but people know we love Abys and come to us with their rescues.
