I think Frisky is so cute! But, by the way he looks, and how he meows and doesn't like to be held, I would guess that he is part or all Maine Coon. If he is pretty big, then you can bet that he is.

Maine Coons don't mooch! They take food whether you offer it or not. My neighbor's Maine Coon Jeffery once opened my screen door by pulling down the handle, came into the kitchen and snagged half of my ham sandwich off my plate. Jeffery is such a majestic animal that I cannot take any action against him.

On the Cat home page, instead of clicking on Pet Talk to get here, click on "Previous Cats", then click "by date" under "May" and then click on Frisky.

If someone "revives" an old thread by posting a reply to it, it comes back up to the top. Sometimes a newbie or someone who has been away from the board (vacation, busy schedules, etc.) is trolling through old posts, will reply, and lo and behold, and old thread looks new! This can really get confusing when it's one of the Cats of the Day that has been "revived". You're not the first to be confused by this. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

Thank you four feline house for the explanation. I had gone back to previous cats to look for Frisky without success. But now I know why he showed up on June 21. Sorry for the trouble, but I guess we "new members" need to learn the ropes. I'll look for Frisky again and see if I can get into the Previous Cats spot now (I've had trouble with it before when trying to look back at earlier kitties, so it may be Bill Gates doing bad things to me.) Thanks again.

I think "mooch" is a verb meaning "to freeload"...unless anybody out there has a better definition!

Mooch can be a verb, like Daisy says ... but can also be a noun to describe the individual who performs the action of "mooching." That individual would be a "mooch" or a "moocher."

"Mooching" can mean anything from living off someone else's money, to begging for food from your two-legger.

Well, with the cooperation of Bill Gates and all my friends at Microsoft, I've finally been able to see adorable Frisky. He is certainly a cutie and he is probably a very successful moocher. Don't you just love these international conversations? Where else could a cat lover from Australia learn words like mooch? How about schlep? After all you have to schlep the stuff before it can be mooched!
