I had to take Keegan to the vet today for a perscription refill and b/c she had a skin infection on her belly. She has had them before, this time I took a scraping of it, and took it to work, and had one of my friends culture it to see 'what it would grow!'. So I called them with the info. She ended up with a shot, some more pred just for a few days, and the best news was that she HAD LOST ANOTHER POUND!!
They told me not to be discouraged if it was only 1 pound everytime she came in b/c it could be the other way!!! Instead, of losing she could be gaining, so it is definately a step in the right direction. I told one of my friends that if lost a pound every time I went to the dr myself I would be happy, tho Keegan goes to the vet a lot more often then I go to my dr.!
Soooooo almost $80 later we were on the way out the door. She gets so excited about going to the vet!! They just love the 'reception' she gives them!!! And of course she loves the attention. Only thing is today she wouldn't go with the vet tech to get weighed. I had to go with her!!! I don't know why that happened b/c normally she goes flying out the door!!! Silly Keegie!!
I told the Vet Tech that she probably would have been better off if I went back in the room b/c it was all the 2 of us could do to keep her on the scale!!!

Congratulations, Keegan, on losing another pound!!! :D :D :D Wish I could say that I had lost a pound or two!!!! :) Staci, I know if you can find something growing, you can at least address the problem more directly. Lilly had a horrible fungus once that took a long time to clear up. What "grew" from her culture was gross!! I was so glad the vet had done the scraping because it did ultimately solve her problem.
