This is what happened to me last Sunday night:
I was driving home from work on a rural road around 8 pm last Sunday night. _ As I pass by a car it slows down and I got a weird feeling that they were up to no good. _ Right after I pass, I glass in my side mirror and see them pitch what I thought was something living out the window!
I slam on the brakes and run over and low and behold a little black and white kitten runs up to me. _Poor little thing was scared but very friendly. _I was hearing meowing in the bushes so I assume there was another one, too. _I looked and looked, but no luck. _ I looked for about 45 minutes until I couldn't hear it any more. _:(
BF is delivering pizzas these days and it's in his delivery area so he stopped by there several times, but couldn't find another kitty. We posted signs the next day and still nothing. Hopefully there was just the one kitty and I was hearing things.
I took the little kitty home with me and she was terrified for the first day and a half, but is coming out of her shell now. _She seems fine and is going to the vet tomorrow to get checked out.
Here she is the first night, hiding on my nightstand.
I've been calling her Six (she's number six kitty for me) but I'm thinking Zelda would be good. Any suggestions?

I just don't understand people at all.
What a sweetheart. I'm so glad, as Andrea said, that you were in the right place at the right time.
Bless you for rescuing this precious kitten and I hope all works out well with her.

What is it with people throwing sweet, darling, beautiful kittens out of moving cars? Karma's gonna get 'em, and may it be soon.
She's an adorable little baby tuxie, and I think Zelda would be a cute name for her. Good luck with the vet trip.

She is so beautiful, I wish people would be more responsible. It is so hard to believe that they could look into that cute little face and then toss it out the window of a moving car.
I just don't understand people, and their cold hearts. I think everything has a right to live and not be mistreated, by being dumped out in the middle of nowhere or in a trashcan.
The great news is that the sweet baby got a great mom!! Bright side, very bright side. Thanks for stopping and picking this precious little bundle up and carrying her home with you.

This darling girl is so lucky that you were there. Now she will have a forever home with love, food and warmth. I think Zelda is a good name too. Please let us know how her checkup goes and keep the pictures coming.

I agree with everyone that she is such a lucky little kitty to have had the good fortune to have you in the right place at the right time. She is adorable! And is that Elvis she's looking at (the big whitey)? How's he doing these days, by the way.
Thanks for caring enough to stop and please let us know how the vet visit goes and post pics of all the introductions. :D

That is horrible, but it was so good that you were there to help out! :)
Animal cruelty like this will continue to happen, if regular citizens don't speak up against it! Instead of just being angry, use that anger productively by petitioning your local governments to make stricter laws to protect animals.
Here are some resources from Stray Pet Advocacy to help you take action:
