My dear friend lost her dog, an 18 month old husky cross, over the weekend to a wolf. We live in a rural, but populated area--she's just down the road from me. Saturday night, she let Sockeye out to pee and she never came back. Her body was found today, she had been killed by wolves. The local conservation officer says she is the 6th dog from our area to be killed this winter. The wolves are just hungry-can't blame them for being wolves. But my friend is overwhelmed with grief and guilt.

Godspeed Sockeye.:(

:( I'm so sorry for her loss. Nature is beautiful but it can be so cruel sometimes. :(

How tragically sad Glacier:( Please tell your friend that many dog lovers from across the globe share in her grief and loss:( How heartbroken she must be:( As Ramanth has said, nature can be beautiful, but also so painfully cruel. Rest easy dear Sockeye and wait patiently at the Rainbow Bridge until you and your family are one once more. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Sandra

Please express my sympathy to your friend, Glacier. What a horrible way to lose a beloved pet. :( I know that this sort of thing is bound to happen, but it is sad, regardless.

Rest in peace, dear Sockeye.

That is so sad. It's bad enough to lose a pet but to lose it that way would be traumatic. Hope your friend finds comfort in our words. Is there any way she can fence out the wolves?
