As you know I have been fostering since April. But the cats are sent to me by the organization. But today a friend of mine calls me and says he doesn't know who else to call.....(OK I already know it must be cat related). He is at work and one of his customers comes in with a very small grey kitten. It was tossed out into a parking lot. OK. I don't really have the athority to simply accept every cat that is in trouble, after all there are finances to worry about. ................ BUT............Just 2 days ago an application was sent to One by One for .....guess what............. a GREY.....KITTEN......of which we had none..........COINCIDENCE!!!!!!!??????????
I don't think so.
So SHE goes to the vet this afternoon for the testing, but she appears to be about 6 to 8 weeks old, with a bit of a cold. Poor baby.
This will make the 2nd kitten that miraculously appears out of thin air that fits the description on an application. I get the feeling that God approves of my ambitions. :)

Jen you are playing snap with kittys and homes...cool :D
What to do you mean your first offical rescue, there is no scaling as far as I know. Surely your first shelter cat was your first rescue.
Gosh if you add up ALL the kitties you have cared for and/or homed, you must be in the 20's at least.
How many saved cats are happy due to your intervention ?
PS.I love your new signature.

I hope you are able to unite this little cutie with the person looking for a gray kitten. I'm glad her test was negative and that she gets over her cold soon.
Thank you for making another rescue.

Betty Boop is sure a good little eater. Her runny eye looks much better this morning. (terramysin is really wonderful stuff). I had been worried that she had not used the litter box, and her belly is so swollen (worms), but this morning I found a perfectly good little poop right where it should be. ;) Late last night I forced some water because I did not think she had drunk and that is when it dawned upon me that she didn't know what the water dish was. but she knows now. :D She is alone in my bathroom, which might sound like a good idea to all of you who have not SEEN my bathroom, but with her carrier (being used as a bed), her litter box, food and water dishes, there is NO place to actually stand!:o That, and the fact that my bathroom door does not close from the outside (it is a bifold that folds in). I have to jimmy-rig it in order for it to stay closed so the big cats don't go in. And let me tell you, in the middle of the night, when you need to use the bathroom, UN-jimmy-rigging the door is NOT fun!!! :D
Aw, what an adorable kitten!! welcome to this world, Betty Boop!!

Betty Boop's eye is just fine. It turned out to be from exposure NOT an URI. So that is good news. Her potential adopters went with another kitty, but he was one of "ours" so that is OK too. She had attention at adoption days today even though she was only there in pictures, so I am sure by NEXT adoption day, she will find that special home. (and that means she should be with me for 2 more weeks) :)
She is out of the bathroom and in her own deluxe accomondations. YES, it is a cage, but to a cat her size, it is a mansion. She has food, water, litter (of course) but also hanging toys, hiding box and carpets (plush). I told her that she has the best room in the house.;)

She is marvelous, Jen!!!! :) What a precious little girl, who I would love to have join this house! :o I don't think hubby would agree though. (OK, I know he wouldn't agree).
I know she will find a home soon, and in the meantime, she is in the exact, perfect place!!!! :)
