EDIT: Dec 31,2003 One by One will be helping many kitties in the upcoming year, including my own little Timmy and new foster Tuscany. Would anyone else like to help us help the kitties? :)
original post starts here
I started a thread in the Market place about a fund raiser I have started for my cat rescue organization. It is posted there because it is a form of advertizing and I did not want any misunderstandings. But I mention it here because I know that some of my cat friends only look in cat general.

and do not feel obligated to post to this thread.
Thank you for being my friends. :)

I'm glad you posted here as well, I've never looked in Marketplace before.
PayPal gave me a bit of hassle there, but I think I've successfully made a donation. After all, as you implied, I would have bought raffle tickets from you if I lived near you or worked with you. So when does my Christmas Hamper (raffle prize) arrive? ;) :D :D
Best of luck with the fundraising.

I would like to extend my personal thank you to sirrahbed and Killearn Kitties for their donations and also to Freckles for her offer to mail a donation. The kitties and I thank you for your kindness.
Most of our cats started out as homeless strays and are now learning how wonderful it can be to have a circle of family and friends that love them. Thank you for becoming part of that circle.

Jen, yes thanks for posting it here because I never check Marketplace either.
I looked at the listings on Petfinders and see you guys are helping a lot of cats. I just sent a small donation and hope that using a credit card through PayPal was okay. I don't have any excesss funds in my paypal account or I would have used them instead.
Good luck and I hope the kitties get lots of support.

Hi Jazz,
I had the same problem - nothing left in my PayPal and yet I checked with the organization and they DID receive my donation so I can only assume PayPal used my credit card because there is nothing taken out of my checking either. I really do not like messing with PayPal - it is confusing!!

Yet another thank you going out to krazyaboutcats and Noah's Mommy.
And not that any one donation is any more important than any other donation, an extra thank you to Kelly concidering the bills she has been encountering with those kittens and their eyes.
:)
Just think, if everyone who viewed this (or the fund raiser thread in the marketplace) sent just that simple $1 donation, One by One cat rescue could have over $100 by now :D THAT my friends is the power of the all mighty dollar at work! :D

I thought you might like to know that so far (not including anything that might be in the mail) we have received $75 in paypal donations. :D
And I began canvassing here at home and got $10 more from my co-workers. (not bad as I work in a small shop.)
Thank you to ALL.

Glad you posted here Jen., for some reason I rarely get to Marketplace. How about a reference to the thread in General? It wouldn't do any harm.
I've left my donation via Paypal. Good luck with the sterling work you all do.

Let me thank Kuhio and PayItForward for donations just received via paypal. I do not wish to embarrass anyone, but with those donations our total just jumped considerably. :)
{{{HUGS}}} to one and all.

Thank you to Avajoy for your recent donation. And also to Lorraine (rg_girlca). The kitties thank you very much.
There was also a donation, originating in MD form a lady by the name of Sarah (last name edited from public view). It is assumed to be a pet talk person, but I must admit, I am not certain who it is. :o Very embarrasing, especially if I should know.:o
If you are out there, thank you.

You know, I have been thinking about this for awhile now. Since animals, and cats in particular, are so close to my heart, I think I am going to begin with eliminating the exchange of gifts, and instead, am going to make contributions to various rescues. Most of the people I buy for not only don't need my present, but, love animals as much as I do...so, it will be a win-win for the animals.

As an example of the type of bills our organization comes up against, little Timmy's vet bill came to $1800.00 .
