I would like to thank all of the loving Cat People here, who has made me feel very welcome. Some times breeders are not easily except on alot of lists I have visited. Because of the rescue work alot of good people do. But I feel there is a place for good breeders and good people who do rescue work. And I believe this is the place where both get alone very well. I gather information for any place I can get it about cats, their habits, pursonalities, health, what ever the topic is and will try to find answers if I can. The more you know the more you need to know.
Thanks
Stella

Carole you hit the nail on the head, the love of cats. My Mom said my cats are like underwear. One for every day of the week plus enough to make a second week just in case you don't do your laundry. She also know how I hate to do laundry, and love my cats. So I have enough for almost 3 weeks. Thanks again for the warm welcome here. I hope to learn and help when I can.

Like Carole said PT is a place that really does come together over a love of animals more then what you do or where you are for from. Do you love and care for your animals in the best way that you can? Then you are welcome.
I hope you continue to come around because I think you bring alot to the table with information. Also for the very selfish reason that I love MC's and you have very pretty kitties and pictures of them.:)
Thanks for the pics, and as you have pointed out Mason and my Bob could brothers, or maybe twins.:)

Welcome Stella!
Having rescued 3 purebreds from bad breeders, it has left a bad taste in my mouth. Like you said, there ARE good breeders out there, that don't do it for the money, but for the love of the breed.
I have 2 friends who are breeders. Carl Sullwold breeds Maine Coons in New Jersey. Her cats are absolutely stunning! My other friend breeds Munchkins.
I would love to learn more about Maine Coons, as I have one that I rescued from the shelter I volunteer at. She's a beautiful blue and silver Maine Coon mix. She has all the features of the MC and has packed on a few pounds since being with me.
Please post more pictures. I'd love to see them!!

After reading all of the post so far, I know I am in the right place. I feel I belong here and feel very welcomed. I have known bad breeders and have seen what they can produce. My cattery is my home. My cats are part of my family, not just breeding stock. Yes I have fur everywhere, but with all the cats I have, and most are spayed or neutered, there will be fur. My litters are kept in a bedroom, yes with cages which are at least 5' wide by4' deep by 4' high. because I have had kittens moved and when old enough to move around they have wiggled in some strange places. But when they are 4 weeks old they are allowed to roam around during the day and back in at night with mom. Then at around six weeks they have free roam of the room. And at 8 weeks after their first booster shots the screen door goes up and they can meet the rest with the screen door in place. I handle the kittens from they day they are born and everyday after that. Some like it some doin't oh well I am the mom. By the time they are 4 weeks old they are use to being handled and they don't mind being held, I hold them laying on their backs rubbing their tummies. right side up everyway that is possible. I am always in the kitten room taking pictures, just laying on the floor watching them in their play and development. That is how I see if everything is going good. I can also see if there is a problem. Medically or what. Well that is enough for now. I have 2 litters due one mid Dec and mic Jan. Will keep you posted if you would like to hear about the progress.
