I stole this quote from someone who responded to a post the other day so I thought I would try again. I have had migraines for over 30 years and can't bear sound or light when I have one BUT find I am soothed my the purrs of my kitties! I have discovered that Eliot has such a good motor that if I can get him on my pillow and keep him purring, it vibrates my pillow and oh how soothing to my head!! Both cats generally stay close by - probably because I lay perfectly still. Sometimes Emily will curl up the back of my neck and that is heavenly! Anyone else? I really think my Neurologist should add this to his bag of prescriptions!!

That is wondeful that your Cats can releivethat terrible pain that you suffer. And Medical science , may , one day , my friend , bring you permanant relief. But until then the Cats will have to do thier job. Found Cats send Headbumps And PUUUUUUUURS to you all!

Thank you to the Found Cats Hotel! (I like your new name!!) Glad they told you they were no longer *lost*:D
BTW, I also wrote about PT at my migraine forum and had two replies that they came here and loved it but I do not know who they are - it is Helen and Michelle at that forum - but maybe pen names? One says she comes to COTD first thing each morning :)

I don't think I have migraines, I know people who have them and from the descriptions it does not sound like I have the exact right symptoms. However, I do get these nasty headaches on the weekends sometimes, they put me out of commission. I will have to see if I can convince the Bob that he needs to cuddle with my head.
He takes a little time to get started, but once he starts purring he has one powerful motor.
Thank you very much for the idea.:)

How about getting his motor going - then bringing your aching head to him? Snuggle close and enjoy :) Reach up now and then to keep him going.:D

I have suffered long with migraines.. in fact i had one last night and fell asleep with Pouncer sitting on my chest purring his heart out. Whenever he'd stop, all I had to do was lightly touch him and he'd be motoring away! Perhaps its a long lost secret only cat owners share.

Hi catnapper! It's Pouncer's mommy right? WELCOME!! I love the picture of Pouncer and his big brother - Allen I believe?? Sorry to hear you also have migraine but YES, I really do believe that cat purr is soothing medicine for my throbbing head! I know that cats lower blood pressure and calm anxiety, (well, some cats :D) also provide wonderful companionship to the elderly and lonely. *I* would be nuts without my cats!! I KNOW they are my best medicine:D Again, WELCOME. You are gonna love it here!!
