Whenever I come home ... doesn't matter if I've been out all day at work or just gone out a few minutes to run an errand. They know that when mom comes home it means treats. Mitzi is my little begger girl - mewing and mrrping - until she gets a treat. Mishi will come running when he sees Mitzi getting some, but he doesn't understand the concept of treats and doesn't really beg - just does a little happy dance. He's a strange boy

Fister rarely begs - only if he can smell shrimps, raw fish or liver. :D

If his food bowl is empty, he'll sit next to it, waiting patiently till someone comes in to the kitchen. :)

Maui only begs when he sees his poor, lonely canister of kiki* treats sitting on the counter. Or if he hears crinkling of the lunch meat bag (I never feed him table scraps - my mother does, and I wish she'd stop). Or if he hears a can of something being opened. Then it's all chirps (Maui meow's weird, it sounds like a deranged chirp), purrs and head bumps.

But that poor, lonely canister of kiki treats is what really does him in ;)

*Kiki treats are cat treats, but I have never in my life called them cat treats, always kiki - so that's how Maui knows them, lol

Samson begs and gets underfoot anytime one of us walks, even remotely, toward the area of the food dish. Saphirah will sit on the stool in the kitchen and watch every move we make while we are cooking.

Sammy, rarely. Only if I am giving out kitty treats.
Romeo,CONSTANTLY! If he hears the fridge door open, he comes charging in like a maniac, or if he hears any kind of plastic, or paper crumpling, he is front and center, just in case there may be the possibility of something to eat. That is because he is ALWAYS starving you see.

Actually both of mine are pretty good in this department, the only time Ash begs is when there is fresh chicken or pork around, then he is hanging in there, stretching his body up to the top of the bench , as far as it will go, with a very soft cute little miaow, (he is usually non-vocal most of the time), lexie never begs, but she will hang around if there is something nice to be had.

All three of my cats come running when they hear the electric can opener. This is from the days before their canned food had pop-tops--years ago...but they haven't forgotten the sound of the can opener. When I'm cooking dinner and they are off resting quietly somewhere, instead of disturbing them, I dig for the old manual can opener!! Have they got me trained? One of my boys joins us for dinner every evening...I started telling him he wasn't cute enough yet for a treat and he started rolling onto his back, paws in the air, looking awful darn cute....now I just have to say - You don't look cute enough yet - and he rolls onto his back. 'Course he always gets his treat!

Every morning as I get ready for work. It's as if they're saying "Please don't go to work today mommy. Stay here and play with us!" I then remind them that somebody has to make the money and until one of them gets a job, it has to be me. ;)
They also beg when I get home from work, but that's probably because I feed them when I get home. Oh, and Ally ALWAYS starts begging when I make myself tunafish salad.

Every night at dinner time, Bonnie watches me until I give her a bit of what I'm eating. I've started feeding her at the same time but my dinner must be tastier:D Also when my boyfriend is making his sandwiches for work, as soon as she hear the fridge drawer opening shes in the kitchen like a shot :D

My kitties beg anytime we are eating - but the weird thing is that neither of then will eat "people food". They beg - but then just sniff what we offer and turn their noses up!! The only thing I can recall them even tasting is some plain yogurt. Go figure! My previous cats would eat just about ANYTHING!!
