Bella is my son`s family cat and is an outdoor/indoor cat. She hasn`t been seen since she was let out yesterday (Monday) morning. She did go missing for a couple of days once before, just after the family first moved to where they now live, but that was over 3 years ago. Besides the normal worry there is also the fact that it is the time of year when children/young people are letting fireworks off almost constantly - have been doing so for a couple of weeks now. I am going to call our local cats rescue in the morning to see if she has been found and handed in, my DIL has/is asking people to check their sheds, outhouses etc.
This is her picture

Please say a little prayer for sweet Bella to soon be home safe and sound.

Oh Chris - I hope Bella is found or returns home very quickly. It is so worrying at this time of year with all the fireworks going off isn't it?
I hope she's iin someone's shed or garage and is returned very quickly.

(Bella c'mon home!)

Please come home Bella! It's so frightening this time of year not only because of the fireworks, but because of the stupid morons out there who are obsessed with black cats, or any version thereof. Saying a prayer that God leads her home.

Remember, remember the fifth of November,
Gunpowder treason and plot.
We see no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!

Bonfire night is the 5th November in England. :D

Traditionally this means people attend firework displays with bonfire, toffee and sparklers. To celebrate the death of Guy Fawkes who tried and failed to blow up the houses of parliment many years ago.
http://www.bonefire.org/guy/index.php

But every year some idiots buy fireworks to set off in urban areas even during the day  when the lights can't be seen.

I'll keep our herd inside next week/weekend when fireworks get very very frequent. Lucky we haven't hear many yet this year (Finger Crossed)

Have you started to make the rounds in your neighborhood? Sometimes a cat can get into a shed or garage and have the door closed on them. Ask your neighbors to check these places if they've been in them in the past couple of days.

I hope Bella is ok and comes home soon.

Thanks everyone for you prayers and good thoughts.

Jenny, thanks for explaining about Bonfire night. Around here the fireworks are going off all the time, I can hear them right now. It has been going on for a couple of weeks now, as soon as they were on sale the ****s were letting them off. It makes my blood boil! This is what happened to a human... (there are comments on the bottom and also links to other stories on the right of the page)
Firework victim wants tighter controls (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/3210001.stm)
the dangers for the animal kingdom are obvious.

Thanks again everyone, I will keep you updated.

Bella isn`t home yet. I called the cats rescue and the vets and they haven`t any news of her, they have taken details and will call if she is taken in. This afternoon I printed out some mini posters to put through doors and a poster for the small supermarket around the corner from my sons home (hopefully they will display it ). I am also hoping the post office and a couple of other shops will display at least one of the mini posters too. If she is not home in the morning I will take them all up there and ask.

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts, it means a lot.

Prayers and positive thoughts coming from here too for Bella. Cats can so easily get stuck in sheds and garages, they are so nosey! Maybe your leaflet drop will help if that is the case. This has happened to me too and it is just awful. Thinking of you all.

Thanks Karen.

I have attached a pic of the leaflet I have done. I hope it helps in bringing her home, but most of all I am hoping for a call telling me she is back and they are not needed! That would be the best and most happy waste of paper and ink ever!

Oh Chris...I'm sorry Bella's not been found yet:( You did a wonderful job with the poster. That just might do the trick! I too think she may just he holed up somewhere, shut into a garage or shed. I'm keeping her in my thoughts and prayers. Come home Bella!!

:) Sandra, isn't it the truth? Where have you been??? When Rascal was allowed outdoors and didn't come home immediately, I would ask him that same question. The looks he gave me were amazing, but he never told me.

Gee I was so happy to read Bella had returned, the little rascal, they do indeed give their parents a worrying time, Furkids eh? lol

I know what you mean about fireworks, we celebrate Guy Fawkes here in NZ as well, and they have been letting them off nearly every night in my neighbourhood already, luckily my two are safe and sound inside.
