I have to clear my conscience. I am a cone breeder. I have hundreds. In fact, I own a whole conery. Please don't hate me for it. I love and care for each and every cone. I do not treat them like breeding machines. In fact, I love them so much that I bring them to work with me everyday. I know they love me and are happy because they stand still all day long to protect me. Here is a picture of them spending time with me. I know how you all feel about breeding, so I hope you can forgive me.

Good for you! I'm embarrassed to say that I've been driving for 11 years and still can't parallel park with a darn. I should try that.

I have a cone, but he's a RESCUE cone. Shame, shame!!! Breeding cones! Aren't there ENOUGH abandoned, abused and homeless cones without you adding to the problem???? ;)

Well, cones are a herd animal and certainly feel safer when part of a large group. That way if danger comes they can warn each other and try to get out of the way. But really, for their health, they should be spayed/neutered by a cone-specialist vet.

This is the best thread I've seen yet, cone breeder. LOL. My 17 year old daughter rescued a cone, but she won't have nothing to do with it anymore, I think she is being very cruel. I think I will turn her in to the Cone Society. LOL.LOL:D

Perhaps you or your daughter should do the right thing, and give the poor negelected cones to a place where they will have company and cone friends! I bet you could sneak them into the herd at the next DPW or construction site you come across, and no one will know! Cones do re-integrate into the herd quite readily, I am told!

You need to do what Karen said its the best Idea.. But be nice and give the poor things a loving home for a week. They would love it im sure;)

trayi52, I am typically JUST a breeder, but I suppose I can take in a few rescues. I only have room for them if they have their AKC papers. Otherwise, they are not worth my trouble.

Tonya

They have a well balanced meal of gravel and tar.

trayi52
10-29-2003, 11:21 PM
Well I didn't know what to feed them, and I just don't think they have papers, I think my daughter, just found them, ;) and brought them home, I don't have any tar and gravel to feed them and they are still just laying in the bushes where my daughter left them. :D :D

OMG if I lived closer I would not hesitate an taking in these poor fellas. My Gilbert is really friendly now and I'm thinking he needs a cone-mate to play with. Please don't just leave them there. The nights are getting cooler and I'm sure they'd prefer to be inside. As for food seeing that they are laying by the bushes, you might try to encourage them to eat some grass. That might help. Do you have any gravel pits in your town??

Another idea is to call your local construction company and see if they will take them in. Karen is right in that they adapt to their surrounding very quickly. Please do the right thing and get them fixed, then find them good homes. Please???

I lied to my Mom too :o :o When she asked me why I wanted to take her cone from the basement I told her that it was for a Halloween costume. If I tried to explain the whole Pet Talk and Cone thing it just wouldn't register. Some people just don't get the concept.

BTW Welcome to Pet Talk Kitty Talker 003. You'll love it here. As well as having lots of fun, we love and support each other and each other's pets. I would encourage you to start a thread in the General section and introduce yourself.
