Miss Kate has peed on the couch 3 times at least, and on our bed once and on my daughter's bed once.
When she peed on my daughter's bed, we'd only had her a few days and thought maybe she was just getting used to us.
When she did it on our bed, we thought maybe it was because the door was closed and she couldn't get to her litterbox.
But the couch is within easy reach of the litterbox! I know she has bladder control, because if we catch her getting ready to do it and pick her up, she stops until we can get her into the box.
Thank God I had just scotchguarded the couch - but I'm afraid eventually we won't be able to get it clean.
What can we do????

The very first thing you need to do is to take her to the vet. Very often when cats get urinary tract infections they only way they can make us dense humans understand they are uncomfortable and in pain is to urinate in what we think is an inappropriate place. What to do after that depends upon the vet visit.

Denyce is absolutely right. The only way cats can tell us if there's something wrong is by doing things to get our attention. Get you kitty to the vet asap.

A trip to the vet is inorder. Unusual pottying red flag for UTI more times than not.

Thanks - I'll call the vet when I get back from work! I hope that's all it is. Jeez - These animals are breaking the bank. Between vet bills and Dr. bills for dog-related injuries I've spent $1500 since April!!!

You may also put her on Hills S/D diet food until the vet can see her. It will do no harm if the problem is something else, and if it's UTI, that's what's suppose to help. Don't let her have any treats and keep an eye on how much water she drinks. The vet will probably want to know.
Keeping all paws and fingers crossed that it's nothing serious!

Cubby just went through all of this. He never peed in places he couldn't until we got him a new litter box. Then we locked him in the bathroom and he peed in the bath tub, and there was blood in it. So that's when I took him in. I think you should take him in. I don't know how much it will cost you, but it cost me 104$ for food and meds and the check up. They put him on prescription diet C/D. They told me he can't have any treats at all. Which is hard for us not to give him treats. We are working on it though. :D
